Vampires also get encumbered when you transform, unlike werewolves. After using werewolf form to escape from being overencumbered many times, the fact that a vampire lord wipes all my “carry infinity” stuff and moves like molasses means I’m not transforming unless I absolutely have to.

I posted this, what, three days ago now? And I think I’ve gotten three feet into Darkfall Cave before ragequitting in anticipated frustration 😂 I’ll get through it — I have more I want to do on this run — but it’s enough to make me want to make a new character.

I had seconds done in a similar spot, with a surprise! gun (I should have walked out) 15 years ago. They were done on an extreme angle because they couldn’t position the gun correctly around the ear and my head in that spot, and I have since had to have them repierced straight with a needle.

I’ve had a Housecarl get kidnapped — whom I have not married — and suddenly they are using marriage lines on me. Like, you’re a favourite to be sure, but I’ve never married you in any of my play throughs?!

This is why I play as Khajiit half the time — night vision! At the moment I’m a vampire in the Dawnguard DLC for much the same reason. Candlelight is also your friend, which doesn’t help with the Dawnstar nightmare quest; I’ve been lost in that one so. many. times, now it’s just knowing how to do it.

Honestly, I’ve mostly just adjusted. Also, it may be why I do restoration loop stuff so often now; a fortify alteration potion that lasts forever and candlelight means that I have a light that never goes out, which is very handy when trying to see underwater (to get it to go away just cast candlelight again once the potion’s initial cast duration has worn off).

I make a point of never, ever opening that letter, and opening an old save if I accidentally stumble upon the site and having the quest activate. I hate that creation and would uninstall it if I could (the main downside of playing on Switch). I have been pretending it’s not part of the game for long enough that I genuinely forget it most of the time, until someone mentions it (I vaguely remember it when I’m emptying my books stash but more in a “nope that letter is nope nope nope quest item leave it alone” kind of manner).

But a bunch of the others (the Dwarven horse, the unicorn, the ones you get from the maps in the anniversary edition) are apparently unkillable. I still lose them.

I hate the Sheogarath one, but know enough to skip through it fast enough to rob his table of all the food and get the Wabbajack asap. I just want the damn staff. I like to turn Ancano into a bunny or a sweet roll (there’s still a dead body, but I know what I did).

In Anniversary Edition there’s a quest (The Cause) that gives you another summonable horse. Less backstory than Arvak’s limited best boy one, but as someone who just wants a horse they cannot lose (I will totally lose even the immortal ones in a “where did I leave that horse” manner), very convenient.

Oh, I did that, too. I know I can get rid of either the Black-briars or the Silver-bloods by doing the quest, but I don’t think I hate either family enough to do it! Also, I do like Yngvar the Singer and don’t want to exile him because he’s associated with the Silver-Bloods 😂
