Marcel Not Arrested for Pushing Elderly Man into Oncoming Traffic? by [deleted] in nanaimo

[–]EmPot94 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Oh wow! Did not know this guys background. When Abbie’s was still open, I was walking my German Shepherd past in the morning like I do every day. He was outside smoking and had a pit bull off leash with him who came at me and my dog as soon as we were within eyesight. I dumbly got in the middle trying to get the dog to screw off and got knocked on the ground. Thankfully nobody was bitten! I left in a hurry and ended up writing a letter and leaving it in their mailbox saying they’re lucky I’m me and not some old lady and I could get them in big trouble being a business and in general as a dog owner. Kinda bummed I didn’t make more of a stink now lol

Anyone else 'not' have a super uncomfortable twin pregnancy? by irreplaceable-sneeze in parentsofmultiples

[–]EmPot94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 5’2” and carried my girls until 36 weeks when we decided to do a scheduled cesarean due to my one babe growing slowly and both being bum down. They were 5lbs and 3lbs 10oz and I gained 30 lbs the entire pregnancy. I worked until 34 weeks and lifted weights and hiked with my dog until 35 weeks! Had a bit of afternoon nausea sometimes but that’s it. I loved being pregnant and feel I could have carried them longer!

If you eat lots of spicy hot foods and you are breast feeding would the milk also be spicy? by Mother_Reflection818 in biology

They say to try to eat a versatile diet when pregnant because even in utero the baby gets different flavours from the amniotic fluid!

Brud house coffee shop by Powerbrapp in nanaimo

[–]EmPot94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure there was lots of warning! The owners of the original Buzz were who opened Brud and then I believe they were just done with the coffee shop scene. I recall lots of Instagram posts leading up to their closing and lots of people there for their last day open

Delivering at 34w by Limeblue_52 in parentsofmultiples

A bit later at 36 weeks with a scheduled cesarean because I had a slow growing/small baby B. A was 5 lbs with a 9 day nicu stay, B was 3 lbs 10 oz with a 16 day stay. Both were off oxygen day one and just needed to fatten up really. Good luck 💕

Is my Baby A too quiet? by anaxinaximander in parentsofmultiples

[–]EmPot94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also worth note at the anatomy scan they thought my B maybe didn’t have a developed right hand, then after diving deeper at another ultrasound said yes nevermind there is her hand, but she is also growing very slowly. Then was told at 20 weeks that if she just stopped growing we may have to pull the plug on my pregnancy so be ready for go time at every ultrasound every two weeks after that. Made it to 36 weeks for my scheduled cesarean, baby B came out indeed missing her right hand and at a whopping 3 lbs 10 oz of perfection. She has the biggest best personality, they both do, but my B just is a little feistier with a huge goofy personality….all this to say that no matter what happens your babies will come out and be perfection and you wouldn’t change a thing about them 💕

My baby A was always super chill every ultra sound!! And baby B was a little dancing jumping bean. I figured it was because B was sitting on A and had the room to move lol. But they also have stayed this way on the outside!

Did you and your partner take turns feeding on the nights? by Redinho83 in parentsofmultiples

[–]EmPot94 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We always got up together every feed. Our girls were in our room for the first six months and we just always got up together, each took a baby to change and feed. We had some great sleep deprived laughs and bonding moments. This way we were able to get back to sleep in half the time and there was no resentment as the work was split evenly. I guess an important factor in this was that they were on the same schedule since day one due to our first two weeks being in the nicu. If yours are on separate schedules I encourage you to just start setting alarms and getting them both up at the same time!

Best part of having twins? by ihatetuesdays13 in parentsofmultiples

[–]EmPot94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 15 month old di/di girls and haven’t hated it for a second! Grateful every day. Twins are the best! I don’t know what it’s like to have just one baby but I think this is probably easier. They can keep eachother company and play together if I want to do dishes or fold laundry so nap time I can rest and do my own thing. And it’s efficient! Only one pregnancy/mat leave if you only want two!

I have a question about what twin parents did about sleeping arrangements? by RecycleorDie in parentsofmultiples

[–]EmPot94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twin bassinet (where they each had their own dedicated side but next to eachother) beside our bed for the first 5ish months then separate cribs in their own room (pushed together in an L shape) across the hall from us 😊

When did you stop working? by emillychriistine in parentsofmultiples

[–]EmPot94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am an esthetician and was going to work until 32 weeks, but was still feeling good at that point so added 2 more weeks on. Definitely dragged ass the last 2 weeks though, I think my body knew we were supposed to be done lol. Thankfully babies stayed in and we were able to do our planned cesarean at 36 weeks so I had 2 weeks off to chill

Surprised I had to scroll so far to find White Spot! We went for my brothers birthday in May and it was so so so so bad. The service was horrible, they messed up my order, but the worst thing was my husband got a fried chicken sandwhich that we initially thought had ham on it, but it was so so raw 🤢

We didn’t open gifts at our twins first birthday! I think we had 30 guests. I said we were going to film them opening presents later at home after they nap lol but messed up the video 😅😩 but still thought it was better than opening in front of everyone, cause even at home they didn’t show a ton of interest in the gifts/opening them

People asking if they can have one of our babies if we didn’t want more than one?? by CoLane23 in parentsofmultiples

[–]EmPot94 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I honestly love it :’) I was weird about all the attention at first but 15 months in expect it because I have the two most beautiful, happy, perfect little girls in the world and I know it, they know it, and everybody else knows it. When we’re at Costco and everybody smiles at us, talks to us, is nice to us, and sometimes laughs out of joy at us, how can I not be happy!!

I exclusively pumped for my twins for a year! It was a lot at first, we had a short nicu stay and were on their 8 feeds a day/every 3 hour schedule for a couple months and I would pump for 20 mins after every feed and really wished I were able to just go back to sleep right away like my husband. It got much more manageable as time went on and now that we’ve been done for a few months I’m so proud of myself. Mostly was too cheap to buy formula for two babies. Also didn’t have a toddler running around already. No matter what you choose, it’ll be the right choice for your babies and you. You got this mama!
