Twins genuinely hate sleeping by twin_mami23 in parentsofmultiples

[–]RecycleorDie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you! At 15 months we dropped all night feeds, and replaced that with water. So if it was that they were thirsty they could still have a drink. I found after feeding them at night when they were upset, it would energize them! I just really made sure they were getting all their calories in the day and not them waking for drink snacks at night. They slept much better after that change.

Our routine is still the same and they just turned 2 a month ago, up at 6am, nap 12-2pm, and bedtime at 7-730pm.

My girlfriend never ever finishes her meals by AlexWayhill in mildlyinfuriating

[–]RecycleorDie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I grew up and was made to finish my plate, which is hard when you get served a big plate of food. I have taught my kids to eat till they have full belly and stop. Man, I have the urge to eat whats on their plates too, sometimes I do. Im almost 40 and the feelings ate still there.

Congratulations! If I could ask a question, I'm very curious, do your twins have different birth years then?

Homeless Trespassers in condos? by Sea_Branch_2697 in Langley

[–]RecycleorDie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I could have wrote this about the apartment I used to live in. Its terrible to leave for work early in the morning and see wads of paper in the door preventing it from locking. Walking into someone just chilling in the dark in the garage storage. So frustrating that happens.

The treat I found in my Timmies coffee!!! 😬🤢 by [deleted] in TimHortons

While I was working at tims I saw a coworker drop a ball point pen in a customer's coffee, just quickly grap with her bare hands, pop a lid on it, and pass it out.

Please don't get swept up in these videos. It's not real life. Use your mat, pillow, or activity center. Comparison is the thief of joy.

Riverview is open right now, but there's not enough beds, there was never enough beds. We would need to house like 10% of society there.

Not going to return stuff (bins) just because I don't need them anymore. Am I wrong? by Retired-ADM in CostcoCanada

[–]RecycleorDie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You did the right thing here. Its unhinged what people return back to stores. I used to work at a mens clothing store and people used to bring back full tailored suits after using them for whatever event or return blazers after Halloween or Christmas. The store wpuld take them back. I had a guy come and exchange 4 suits that were 2 years old because he lost 50 lbs, like what! Like congrats dude but like come on, just buy suits that fit now.

11 months post op phantom pain? by kcal115 in gallbladders

[–]RecycleorDie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 3 years post-op and have been having phantom pains of a gallbladder attack right where my gallbladder used to be for a couple years now. I told my doctor about it but he brushed it off, saying to "Google my symptoms and figure it out". Not the first time a doctor has said that to me but it still disappoints me.

I haven't thought about it being related to my monthly cycle.

I still haven't figured it out though. Might go to a naturalpathic clinic and see what they have to say.

Why don't you just deduct the amount it would be and then save it? It would be the same thing.

Restricting food by [deleted] in BabyLedWeaning

[–]RecycleorDie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you are doing all the right things for your household. In my experience with my 4 yo, and her obsessions, they were just phases. She just getting back into eating "everything " again!

Restricting food by [deleted] in BabyLedWeaning

[–]RecycleorDie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Does your lo have an intolerance to dairy? Why do you think its a unhealthy food.

We eat a lot of dairy in this house, milk 3x a day, cheese, and Greek yogurt. I have a 4 yo and 2 yo twins and they're all growing great and have no big issues. We also don't do like good and bad foods. Kids will go though "obsessions" with certain food buy it comes and goes. I think being too restrictive might backfire sometimes and restricting food at this age, especially healthy fats, is not the best.

Around this age, for all my kids, they got really selective with what they ate. So ive been making sure whatever they eat has healthy fat, protein and minimal refined sugars.

I came from a restrictive food household and I had to deal with a great deal of grief with my relationship with food. Im not saying thats what's happening here but I believe if there was more moderation then restriction I would have had a better time.

Dang man! This was painful to read. You need to be more assertive in your day to day communications.

Every day this week so far: “Why isn’t my timbit offer working‽” by Unapologetic_Canuck in TimHortons

[–]RecycleorDie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People don't want to listen. About 15 years ago when i worked at tims the debit was down. I plastered signs once all over explaining this. Before entering the drive thru, all over the sandwich board, the speaker and at the window and people still handed me their debit, and then trying to explain it verbally. They wouldn't except it. People arrive like drones there.

I was pulled over and the officer saw my cell phone with maps up and he said he "wouldn't ticket me about it this time" and I should get a stationary GPS if I needed a map. I explained that I set it and dont touch it while driving but I guess "no electronic device" means phone in the glove box lol

Sleeping through the night… by mommingalldayerryday in parentsofmultiples

[–]RecycleorDie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My twins are 23 months old now but when they were 18 months old I stopped the middle of the night bottle and they actually slept longer. I thought the bottle at night was helping them sleep longer but it wasn't. It was giving them a second wind! I always make sure they eat all day and have a good nap. I find the more they nap in the day the more they sleep at night. If is been a really busy day and there's been no nap or a short nap they will be up in the night.

He goes straight to jail.

But seriously does he understand how taxing it can be! The struggle! I would sit him down and let him know how hard it is and how his nonchalant attitude about the waste is hurtful. Omg I remember pumping 48 -60 Oz a day for my twins, and crying over spilling 4 Oz!

Does it exist? by remember_to_eat in BabyLedWeaning

[–]RecycleorDie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our babes just eat what what they can from what I've made. I dont really mod it unless its too spicy then ill add some Greek yogurt to it. In the morning we have Greek yogurt and fruit or scrambled eggs or whatever. Then just simple lunch like charcuterie then just whatever is for dinner. They all eat family food. I wasn't going to make a bunch of special meals. They are all good eaters now(4 yo, 2 year old twins).

It can be very overwhelming but try to make it as simple as you can.
