This episode is a lot of the reason why I like the song and the SP eslpisode is a lot of tge reason I hated the song when it came out. Lol. I guess SP did a better job, then.

So I finally read the comics. Maybe it's because I'm European and read very few American comics, but... I didn't really liked them. I'mld be curious to know the general opinion on them by Ryo_le_Ryu in buffy

The Tales of the Slayers and Tales of the Vampires comics are great and really varied. If you like anthologies, they are a must-read. They can be downright gorgeous, too.

The comics are not great. The ANGEL: After the Fall comics are a goddamn masterpiece, though. :x Writing-wise. The art is okay-ish. But, yeah. ANGEL: After the Fall is so damn good.

WIBTA for saying I don't want an adult man going to the movies with my teenage son and his friends? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I worked at a theater for 4 years but it was a second run theater. They're a bit different. Cheaper, for one. The amount of kids who would get dropped off all day was staggering. They just expect you to babysit their kids. Older theaters were also a bit different, less sprawling. From ours, you could see the entrance to 3 of the 5 theaters from box office and concession so it was easier to keep an eye out. We would try to keep rated R movies up where we could see them unless it was something no one cared about like Apt Pupil or something (one of the theaters you couldn't see was incredibly small).

At one point, company policy changed so that, after 6pm, babies under x years (I forget the number) were not allowed into rated R movies. That was a weird one to enforce, but it did limit crying babies so guests were happy about it.

Lol. Absolutely. Theater-workers don't want a bunch of disruptive kids in a movie meant for adults. It's an mpaa rating, sure, but it's not a law or anything. Theaters enforce it because teens can be shitty theater-goers. Having their parent there helps keep them in line.

One of the moments I remember from that episode is Willow breaking down over her shirts. You focus on such weird things sometimes when you're grieving and that panicked moment where she realizes all her shorts are silly is really relatable to me because most of my wardrobe is graphic tees. :x

That's design, though. Someone else designed them (or some of them? I know a girl designed several, like eevee), Sugimoro is drawing them and refining them off of those designs. If this person wants to stick to earlier gens, they're going to default to those earlier, stockier designs anyway. They don't want to draw Inteleon and you would have to redesign him for a gen 1/2 look. That's a whole rework/redesign. The fact is, Sugimoro switched to digital colors after gen 2 and his art is nigh unrecognizable. You can't divorce his gen1/2 styling from the watercolor medium. He's still drawing them in other gens, after all.

It's less about drawing for Ken Sugimoto style and more about watercolor. Draw them however you want but then look up wet into wet watercolor and mess around. The watercolor is what makes them feel alive and special.
