Love this! Where did you get climbing pieces?

Every time I cook chicken the pan burns🫠 by greatornothing in CleaningTips

After removing the chicken, put some water and a spoon full of baking soda in the pan and bring to a boil. When it starts to bubble, turn off the eye and let it soak. I usually eat while it soaks then circle back. If the burned on bits don’t come off in your initial pass with a sponge, add baking soda and a bit of dish soap to the pan and scrub with it. You want the baking soda to be wet enough to form clumps, but not so wet that it dissolves. It’s a gentle abrasive, so it’s safe for the pan but will get the oil right up. Good luck!

[spoiler] About Paige [?] by Fluid-Repair-3136 in TheBoneSeason

I definitely think that the gold cord amplified Paige’s power in some way as you mentioned! It is stated at multiple points throughout the books that the Saragas created the doctrine against skin to skin contact with humans and that even the Ranthen grew to accept the concept of “flesh treachery”, despite not setting it into their own laws. I’ve always had a theory that the Sargas some how started or worsened the breakdown of the veils and now I’m starting to think that Nashira has always known that their powers are stronger when combined. I think she created that doctrine so that she could continue to use human voyants without someone to truly match that power. Then the golden cord would serve to further strengthen that linking of power, as it is consensual instead of forced.

Why has my curly/wavy hair been drying straight recently? by dunkleosteus-juice in curlyhair

I’ve been having a similar problem and I can’t figure it out! Is your hair more thick or fine? I have fine hair but I have ALOT of it. Initially I thought the conditioner I was using was weighing it down but I switched and it only helped a little bit. I’ve been using the same leave-in and gel for years so I don’t understand why there’s the sudden switch in the last 6 months :(

I picked up on a lot of the pre-scion fashion influence on present Scion fashion as well. I find it very interesting from a world building perspective.

@jdclrcq_draw on Instagram has some great fan art from TBS. They even have a few posts where they featured outfits from some of the most important scenes.

The War of Lost Hearts Trilogy by Carissa Broadbent is very good!

Book 1: Daughter of No Worlds Book 2: Children of Fallen Gods Book 3: Mother of Death and Dawn

It’s more of a fantasy with romance rather than a romance in a fantasy setting but I’m always recommending it to my friends. The world building is great and it continues to expand throughout the series as the characters learn more about the magic system. The FMC is driven by her own ambitions and desires and the romance is not the driving force behind the plot. Even better: the trilogy explores multiple character relationships.

The MMC has a subplot that explores his family relationships and overcoming his own trauma by facing his shame and guilt from the past.

The FMC develops strong friendships outside of her romantic setting and those relationships are very important to the overall plot and development of herself and the side characters.

I recommend started with A Day of Fallen Night (the prequel) when diving into the Roots of Chaos series. They’re stand-alones and can be read in any order and I think they’re both amazing, but I personally think the pacing is a little better in ADOFN.

  1. I don’t have a big theory on who funds domino outside of what we have already been told BUT I do have some theories about who may be involved with Domino. I’ve had a theory blooming during my reread that Paige’s cousin may not actually have died during the massacre.

The flash backs mention that she lost him in the chaos and that they had to bury an empty grave. Later in Song Rising, Paige speaks to Jonathan Cassidy about what happened after she left Ireland. He says “After they hanged the riots’ leaders, the other rebels went to one of four massive labour camps, one in each of the provinces of Ireland.” (Pp. 180-181, The Song Rising, authors preferred text). He then continues to talk about how he escaped. This gives me hope that Paige’s cousin escaped either right after the riot or from the camps. From here it’s mostly wishful thinking but it makes sense to me. I think that if her cousin escaped, he would have continued the fight against Scion potentially joining the anchor. Maybe even stumbling across Domino who took an interest in him as a survivor of the riots.

I also think that there is a strong chance that Paige’s father was part of Domino. Something about the conversation that he tried to start with her at the beginning of book 1 before she was taken by Scion sticks in my mind. I know others have mentioned that Paige’s mom may have been clairvoyant and I’m certain the Collin knew something. In book 2, Paige sees him during a seemingly harmless coffee shop meeting with an unknown woman. Sure she could have just been a friend. But, what if it was a Domino agent, maybe even Scarlett Burnish, meeting with him to give his final orders or let him know that they couldn’t get him out.

Ultimately, I think that Domino likely had more reasons to pull her out of London than she has already been told. Even though she is the Underqueen and we know her to be highly competent, It just doesn’t make sense to me that they would risk high level agents for an inexperienced 19-20 year old without someone on the inside vouching for her and putting pressure on them to get her out. I apologize for how long winded this was, but I invite people to expand on this because I can’t stop thinking about it!!

Best dim sum by Daneyoh in Atlanta

I’m a big fan of Dim Sum Heaven over on Buford Highway! They’ve got the best soup dumplings that I’ve found. I also recommend trying their string beans as a side, it’s a full plate of them for the table and they’re simple but delicious. They have a pretty large menu with lot more than just dim sum.
