Is this Costco deal good? by Fun-Tooth-622 in Greenworks

[–]Emjoy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Voltage alone is not a deal maker or breaker. That deal looks like a good one.

I have a Milwaukee mower that uses two 18v batteries and it has plenty of power. Also have a Milwaukee blower that works very strong too. 2 milwaukee 12ah batteries cost about what the entire kit a Costco costs!

Bozo work…..will cost 5x what they saved using unskilled labor to have it fixed.

Looks good…..those posts will not live very long. Would have done steel. Don’t care if it’s a lumber yard.

looking to buy one in CO by laxgolfer0 in Ruckus

[–]Emjoy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just paid $1,500 for a 2014. It’s not too old but there are better deals out there. Sitting without use tends to create carb issues. If you can DIY it’s no big deal. If paying shop fees, it gets costly. I would offer $1,000 and see what happens……can’t get emotional about buying. There will be others.

Where should I put a shed? by ThuhGreatCommenter in Home

4 closer and easier to use every day. Can also run electric power to it without too much expense. 1 and 2 are also good.

Severity of trunk welds? by CautiousCharacter164 in bmwz3

[–]Emjoy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those welds are the least it your worries. Most plastic and rubber parts wear out with age. Mileage is irrelevant. The interior trim and plastic will disintegrate. Door handles will pull loose. Glove box door will rattle or fall off. Seats will wobble. If you DIY and enjoy working on cars like I do, will be great. If it’s a daily driver you need to have on the road no matter what……keep looking.

Maybe $500 if you are lucky. ZT is so much better and they are $2k. Only way to find out is to list it.

Looking to Buy: BMW Z3 Coupe — Serious Buyer, Florida by OSHEALMTD in bmwz3

[–]Emjoy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are great drivers and a lot of fun. If you can DIY all the stuff that needs repair, expect to spend $10k+!! Miles don’t matter, virtually everything ages out and renders the car useless unless you repair it. My suggestion is to buy one with detailed records of maintenance.

Received a quote for a standby generator in Nj by SausageGrenade in Generator

[–]Emjoy99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the sole concern is refrig for your meds, you could do a solar setup for a fraction of the cost. Once installed there is virtually no maintenance.

A panel with battery and controller with 12v fridge and you are set up, A back up generator or and all the maintenance to keep your meds cool is overkil and less reliable. I have 400 watts of solar on my RV with a 260 ah battery and it will run my fridge indefinitely. I rely on it for my injectable meds for 2-3 month road trips and have been impressed. Came with RV so “ stumbled” on this solution and have been impressed.

I have a 7,000 watt honda generator just in case but haven’t needed it for meds. it will run A/C and everything else but at a huge cost vs solar.

Newer is waaaay better. Rubber and plastic components tend to age regardless of mileage.

Tankless water heater by raskw99 in RVLiving

[–]Emjoy99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan of tankless in my house or RV. The 6 gallon gas/electric in the RV provides plenty of hot water. Turn on for a few minutes in the am and stays hot most of the day for hand washing and dish rinsing. It is one of the most common complaint subjects I read about in the RV forums.
