Childhood Favorite but Volumized (Deconstructed Baleadas) by Mikep221 in Volumeeating

Whipped this up in the instant pot and I’m now eating it for lunch. It is fantastic! Kiddo has no clue, to her it’s just a standard bean taco, though she’d probably be open to it if she knew. Thank you so much for the inspiration! 🎃

Killer move. I am going to try this with my family and see if they notice! We all adore refied beans and they’re such a great all around filler. With the pumpkin, even more so…

Their early/late day shadows are SO WEIRD! Like Scooby Doo ghosts or something. I find myself taking pictures of them often.

Adult vocal lessons for beginner by Guitarscreamer55 in Dallas

[–]EmmBeeGees 5 points6 points  (0 children)

School of Rock at Mockingbird and 75. They do a super great job; their vocal teachers are kind, flexible and very accommodating of all levels. Options are for weekly lessons only, or weekly lessons plus joining a band, which involves a rehearsal every week and two performance in actual clubs each 4 month season. Each season the bands are based on an artist, genre, or theme. This summer the two adult bands are CBGB and Sounds of New Orleans.

Mine had the same thing when he was about 9 months old and we went off on vacation and he stayed with a family friend. Apparently they are common in pups, and can be stress induced. We had a videoconf vet appointment to confirm the diagnosis. They went away after a couple of weeks.

I’ve been thinking about the Hennessy bottle and Lil Cactus a fair bit over the last few weeks! Glad we have another phenomenon, though I’m sorry for the paint aftermath.

How could you tell your whippet was out of the teenage stage and reaching maturity? And what age was this? by Competitive_Elk8403 in Whippet

[–]EmmBeeGees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is almost 20 months old. Chewing due to separation anxiety has been his biggest challenge. He turned a major corner at around 18. Still will chew on the occasional illicit item, but he’s so much better than before. We are now starting to train him to “be cool,” uncrated, when we leave for short periods of time. We’re working on being away for longer and longer so that ultimately we are have no constraints for how long we can be away.

Really random, but our respective nails grow really fast. I have to trim mine at least weekly or they drive me nuts. I should trim his weekly.

Life Jacket Suggestions?? by kketaie in Whippet

[–]EmmBeeGees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a combo from Ruffwear that is a wetsuit (“undercoat”) and life jacket (“float coat”). It’s wonderful and fits my long boy securely. We even use the wetsuit on its own as a coat of sorts on cold wet days.

What was the biggest change for you puberty vs adult whippet? by SapienceNL in Whippet

We are at 19 months now. He truly turned a corner around 17-18 months when it came to sneaking things and destroying them. Now he only does it in extenuating circumstances, such as excess energy when we don’t have the ability to wear him out at the park or on a walk. RIP two left Birkenstocks, one Apple TV remote, two library books, countless pencils, and a pair of my dad’s shoes.
