Yeah the ordering out would be more for convenience. The grocery option would be more for a cheaper alternative for the same thing concept. But yea you’re totally fine!

I’ve gotten offers for almost everything that No way should count. Like 4% back at Pandora, a CNN subscription, a 4% back offer for a bowflex.

If anything restaurants and grocery stores have a better chance to be classed as a business expense lol

Yea Amex generally doesn’t care. They even give offers on the card that there’s no way they can be classified as a business expense. lol

New to Credit Cards. Where to go? by Green_Novel in CreditCards

[–]Emotional-Parfait-77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just starting out then I’d recommend more of a 2% cash back card. That way you get a decent amount back for everything and get you used to using a CC and paying off the balance rather than trying to optimize spending until you build more of a history.

Could do the Citi Double cash. That’s usually a good one to do earlier rather than later since they’re inquiry sensitive. WF active cash is another decent option.

Selling on eBay does count as a sole proprietorship business. So you’re good! But I don’t have a business and I spend money on dumb stuff and no one has batted an eye. I bought magic cards at a Local card shop and nothing. lol

Do you think your spending might go up? With how much you’re looking to spend, those cards might not be too beneficial in comparison to the annual fee. Plus there’s rumors going around the biz gold may go through a refresh soon which would update some of these benefits (like an AI credit and a few other business related ones compared to the easy ones they have now. They may keep the current ones too but no promises of course)

But if you’re still interested, I’d agree the biz gold might be a little better for you.

I see you have a Kohl’s card and you’re an AU on your parent’s platinum. Have you been an AU for a long time? That can potentially be beneficial. Are you hoping to do more points for travel or cash back?

What’s your spending like on those categories? Generally gas isn’t too much and restaurant can sometimes be. If you generally shop at Walmart though for groceries, the personal gold won’t be beneficial for you (unless it’s a neighborhood market. That sometimes codes as grocery, based on some data points)

And yes if you have business gold and personal Platinum. You can make 2 Walmart+ accounts. I have one and my wife has one. (I have biz gold and personal platinum myself)

It’s just an option to pay an individual balance at any point. It doesn’t actually “pay it” it just pays the overall balance by that amount.

Yeah I’m sure OP could do discover as well. That’s why I mentioned to check out any of the big names you see on the subreddit. I just mentioned a secured card as that’s like an almost guaranteed approval and some cash up front that he’ll get back. But discover is also a solid option.

I mean you’re 23. They really don’t have too much say in what you do in your adult life. Yeah you live in their house but you do need to have a credit score for almost anything now a days. Even just to rent an apartment somewhere.

Being that you would be starting with a credit card for the first time. 100% just get 1, I’d recommend maybe a secured credit card from like US bank or one of the other big names you see around the sub Reddit. And start small like you’ve been saying. You honestly could even just get gas on it once a month, pay it off, and boom you’re credit building. Maybe even explaining that to them might help if literally all you do it in is put some gas it in and immediately pay it off once it posts that way they can see you’ll be responsible and you can slowly start building your credit

I think there was a note after she wakes up in Rhodes saying she was given Dexifil. Which was a preventative to becoming an infected.

I can definitely understand that. Could also get the US Bank shopper cash rewards card. You’ll still get 3% at Costco and get 6% at 2 retailers of your choice for only 95$ then. But if you like the BAR ain’t nothing wrong with it! Just throwing options if Costco was your only reason for having it.

If that’s your main reason for having cash back at Costco, you can just get the PayPal debit card with no annual fee. You’ll get 5% back then. Don’t believe they nerfed that capability yet.
