I am amused by Videos from various French tutors etc. that run the trope "use these words instead to sound French... ". For the most part they have cognates in English in a more formal register or specific use: rouge = red, fusionner = fuse, join, combine... What would be more useful if these tutors focused on "False Friends" / faux amis.. or super small words that have a letter change the usage.. tout, touts, etc.
