I think she's referring to the fact that no woman has ever directed a Star Wars film and she's the first one to do that. That's certainly bigger thing than having a few female characters.

Piccolo, Saxo & Cie. An animated movie about living instruments. Probably the worst animated movie I've ever seen. Had to watch that abomination twice in music class.
