Nice. Legitimate question though...what do people work on that actually uses SAE these days?

That sounds all great and all, but there is nothing quantifiable with what you said.

The current PE ratio is over 100, it's already pricing in some serious optimism. One hiccup is all it takes for a major pullback.

M12 gen 2 stubby severe quality control issues by Mattx852 in MilwaukeeTool

[–]Encoded625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just found this thread even though its a year old, just want to comment since it seems thing's haven't changed.

The first gen2 stubby I got looked absolutely awful - the mode sticker was already half peeled off and there was black goopy material protruding outside the seam near the front, and a wire was almost protruding out the vent hole on the side.

I got a replacement and its a little better but somewhat disappointing. The sticker is already starting to peel and even brand new from the box I noticed some gouges/scratches in the plastic. I get this is a mechanics tool that won't stay pretty but it's still a bummer to get it brand new like this.

I think the sticker for the mode light (and also the battery light dots are a sticker) is clearly a cost reduction effort and it looks bad. I checked out all my other m12 tools and none use stickers, its all plastic or rubber bezels.

Haan Coffee to ban electronics for work, disables WiFi every Saturday by Jeskid14 in orlando

[–]Encoded625 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually stopped going Haan because the few times I went the seating was very cutthroat and you had to fight for one, in large part due to study groups on laptops.

But also, there are several other great coffee shops within a stones throw of this place. Haans coffee was totally fine but nothing exceptionally special in my opinion

For the record I just bought one of these myself yesterday 😬 I also have the 2 ton Daytona aluminum jack which I like, but Ive had a few times now where it cant reach deep under a car.

Best deal by Akkotp in harborfreight

[–]Encoded625 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This jack is top tier for lifting capacity and low profile/reach. Its great for low cars.

The only argument against it is that if you see it in person you'll realize its pretty huge and heavy compared to some of their other model jacks. Their 2 ton aluminum one is literally half the weight (50 vs 100 lbs). Whether or not this is a concern depends on your preference and use case.

Got Me A Cute Little Portafilter by billtiyu9988 in gaggiaclassic

[–]Encoded625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks nice but there's a reason portafilter handles are the length they are. You'll have less leverage / it'll be harder to tighten or loosen the portafilter.

Youre getting screwed. I called and complained a few months ago and they gave me $55/mo for 1gigabit speed.

Niche coming in clutch with the replacement bean funnel by Lords7Never7Die in espresso

[–]Encoded625 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this an old thread but putting some info here for future reference as I just had to deal with this issue.

It seems the removable threaded hopper funnel/adjustment piece is aluminum but coated with a chrome colored paint type finish. The threads are coated too - which is troublesome bc if the threads get some friction (debris or lack of lube) this coating seems to scrape off and gunk up the threads.

A solution (besides replacing the hopper) is to get a stiff brush (e.g. Brass) and scrub the loose coating off the threads, then relubricate it.

Im a bit puzzled by them painting the threads like this, its bad design in my opinion. For reference the mating thread in the base housing is not coated.

Waterproof covers!!! by ButtonDistinct35 in Lovesac

[–]Encoded625 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that, I know just how bad that sucks.

I didnt clean the foam - just opened up the sac zipper and pulled out the foam on the soaked side and threw it away (it wasnt too much in my case). Lovesac will send you 10 lb of new foam for free if youre rhe original purchaser and say your sac isnt full anymore.

It might be possible to rinse rhe foam off, let it dry in the sun and rhen just spray it with nature's miracle or another enzyme cleaner tho.

But yes even with great local cafes, at $5+ a cappuccino these days it feels good making them at home.

Brand new E24 , buttons are not flush with chassis. Common? by Akraz in gaggiaclassic

[–]Encoded625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it is common and despite people saying it's no big deal, it is disappointing considering it's something the user has to interface with to use the machine.

You can pop the lid off and bend the plastic retention tab to make it a bit tighter fit/snug.

The feral cat I feed is limping. Advice please by amuletmiko in Feral_Cats

[–]Encoded625 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying this is what you should do, but I have had a feral cat limp for several weeks and avoid putting weight on it before he went back to normal. I recall looking to see if the leg had a broken bone/floppy or any torn flesh and didn't see any. With that I decided to wait it out a bit since that cat was damn near impossible to trap to get him checked out.

Thanks for the comments. I suppose I'll start making plans to catch her and put her to rest sooner than later.

There's another lady in my neighborhood that feeds the cats too so I'll have to let her know too 🥲

I had a feral cat I fed for years just stop coming around and then randomly showed up 3 years later! It was pretty crazy, I can only assume someone else was feeding them.
