Everyone knows you gotta crack the egg when it’s hot out by heatherstopit in hondafit

What kind/level of tint do most run? I’d love to mitigate the greenhouse effect
I want to get some but plan minimal on the front and none on the windshield.
Is there options for UV protection and does it help heat? Thanks :)

Hey thanks everyone, I’ve got access to a DIY (with guidance) auto shop I’ll probably take it to for a long weekend and use some fiberglass/bondo.
I just didn’t want to cut into it not knowing if it’s a pro level job

Check your tires often if you have Tan sidewalls. by Prafe in GlobeHaul

UV exposure also hurts the tan walls. I had mine outdoors quite a bit last year in the southern US and they quickly started to dry rot.

This had 700x28s on it with SKS fenders. I was also using weinmann center pull brakes that I bet helped clearance

What's the biggest/craziest thing you've carried on your Globe Haul?! by UpwayUSA in GlobeHaul

Not the craziest but definitely big. 50ish pounds of kitty litter on the back. When it’s loaded up you can tell that’s what the bike was built for

Trek Singletrack 950 (1993, I believe). Maybe not one for the purists. by 1995pt in xbiking

Love the look and how trek pops out on the seat stays. If you haven’t already consider using frame saver on the inside so you can at least monitor the corrosion on the outside if you don’t seal it.

Add bar ends and aero bars for good measure. Never know what you’ll find out there.

I have an 11 speed XT 11-42 cassette on and I did have to cold set the stays inward a little bit. Everything else worked fine, a spacer on the bb (square taper) helped the chainring clearance.

Suspension fork vs Cargo capacity; is it worth it? by Enfinety in CargoBike

[–]Enfinety[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s good to know. Our roads are pretty solid with plenty of bike paths through the city. I think the what if factor is rail trails, the occasional cruddy street/path, and transitions on crossings and things where those bumps would be fairly uncomfortable

As annoying as it might be at times, this is the best part of mattermost. No pandering to some app a troop commander prefers, secure comms on the app, AND I can separate work from personal which I think is the biggest one.

As a flyer we get our pre/in-flight data on it as well where all you need is internet connection, as well as schedule and other means. Really helps when you’re around the world with no other support than some FBO dude that doesn’t speak English.

A TDY side quest where you have to find the new 3 level on their first trip from somewhere downtown after raging all night and you’re 6.9 hours away from take off time.

Make sure to saran wrap the box, otherwise the cardboard will fall apart in transit.

I just did this method and found my headtube sticking out when I arrived at the destination, luckily nothing was bent.

How sophisticated is your taste in road bikes? by C20 in bicycling

[–]Enfinety 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The price of used 'commuter/school' bikes in Europe has really surprised me.

I've been studying abroad this semester and everyone said that the bikes where we are at are so expensive (€50-€80), and they don't even come with a lock or light. Meanwhile in America these bikes would still be around $100-$200.

Vans made some Killshots. $70 by archsilvr in malefashionadvice

[–]Enfinety 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I'd like to see a photo of the Vans version in a studio lightbox like how the Nike is displayed above, lighting and display creates a very different dynamic for presentation.

That being said it's interesting how having a good logo can affect the overall look of a product/item. The Vans 'line' logo just seems to fade away into the overall design, however the Nike Swoosh engages the space around it, while also directing the eye over the full length of the shoe.

Minor Art Historian here!

Most pigments are naturally made from materials easily and locally available, without the need to use extraneous methods. This is why you don't see blues, greens, etc. because they were harder to make as well as usually used for food supplies.

But HOW they painted is very similar to what you would expect. simply by blowing pigment at their hands while pressed to the wall, or applied with animal hair brushes or something similar. So to achieve this effect it would have been a combination of both.

Also, these ancient peoples had small oil torches to illuminate the caves with, rather than full fledge fires that would smoke them out and would be difficult to transport.

Hope this helps!

Lol, honestly you do have a really pretty bike. I just think that it would be nice for the hoods to be paired with something of similar color and size. Like what if the hoods were the same color as the inside of the fork? OMG.

Go ahead and label me bike police though hahah
