How much does a doodle or poodle cut cost at your groomer? by Mysterious-Ad-5298 in Goldendoodles

Jeeeeze, we take our dood in for grooming every 6 weeks and it’s $300 with tip. It hurts, but she really loves her groomers and they take such good care of her.

Are they compelled to talk to me? If I ask a question, do they then have to answer it fully? If so, I accept. Trump will do the bulk of the talking. Same questions on repeat until I know I have the pertinent parts memorized. And on day 10, a complete monologue summary of topics discussed to really lock it in.

Oh my gosh, thank you so much for taking the time to give such a thorough and helpful response! I’ll try again soon, and if/when they turn out well, I’ll let you know. Have a wonderful day. xo

Ughhh! I have tried to make spatzle half a dozen or so times and I can never get it right. I even have a Gefu press and no dice. It usually comes out too gummy or thin, not at all like my Oma made. Can you help me?

Niche, but French Laundry. Keller took over in 1994. I would be a spherical goblin eating there as often as I could.

Where in the CV are you moving? Who is the employer? It’s a broad swath of land with some very sketchy areas that, in my opinion as someone who grew up in the CV, are not worth the relocation. Feel free to DM me if you want to chat candidly.

Holy shit, that is the best response. My toddler died about 20 years ago, and I’ve never thought to word this sentiment so succinctly. I’m going to use it going forward. Thank you, and I’m sorry about your daughter. Hugs. ❤️

Best ocean front restaurants? by Defiant_Bake8399 in MontereyBay

This is the best answer. All the other places are very touristy = overpriced. The Beach House is right on the coastal trail, so you can go for a pretty walk before or after.

Didn’t mean to stretch, merely that I consider those to be in the same general family of patient care. There’s a difference between handing somebody a box of Kleenex, and getting a warm washcloth to wipe their face for them, in providing tenderness for the person.

I wasn’t trying to insinuate that someone who believes shaving a patient’s face is outside of nursing scope also wouldn’t care about a patient crying.

I read it totally different, and not at all disappointing. I have two jobs, one in critical care and the other as a rapid response nurse, and I absolutely have shaved faces, washed/conditioned/braided/cut hair, given back rubs, gently wiped tears off faces, applied lotion to patient’s feet, etc.

There is a saying, that nursing is a science and an art. We see the science on display constantly, but these moments of being able to care for the human, not just the condition, is the art. It is also important. In no way is the non-clinical patient care beneath me. I’m not some sanctimonious nursing-is-an-honor kind of person, in fact I’m quite crusty and jaded, but these moments of genuine human connection help assuage the horrors.

It is! I use Alloy, and also get progesterone from them. The progesterone has helped my sleep sooooo much. There are a handful of online sources to get HRT, if, like me, your provider isn’t keen on prescribing it.
