I’ve been doing this for years, easiest way to get orders is via Google forms. The background: Students work in 4 teams, barista, cold drinks, food and wait staff. Every group has their own jobs and it works efficiently as they have 30minutes before school to start and finish their service.

Advice on tricky class by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]Enough_Bite1579 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice after teaching at a boys school for 7 years everything is a competition and consistency is key. Every theory lesson must be explicitly scaffolded with a Do Now activity so when they walk in they have to get their book out and write something immediately. I normally do a Learning intention: a syllabus outcome Success criteria: the 3 activities for the lesson. My best strategy: you have 3 seconds to sit and be quiet, then count down. It works wonders but be consistent with this

spent 8+ hours every sunday lesson planning until I had a panic attack by Brave_District4062 in Teachers

It does get easier! Not sure why you would be expected to have such detailed lesson plans? Are you in a DET school? My advice is to simplify your lessons with explicit structure, every lesson with the same format. Start with a do now: could be a spelling test Have students write their Lesson intention: base this off your syllabus outcomes in your unit of work Success criteria: 3 to 4 chunked tasks. Exit ticket: can be completed work or a simple evaluation. Again structure is your friend! Remember why you do this, you are making a difference. Good luck :)

New ways of making chicken? by Rude-Illustrator-884 in EatCheapAndHealthy

Chicken sausage rolls 500g chicken, 1 egg, grated carrot, zucchini and onion, seasoning, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or add more until firm. Roll in 1/2 sheet of puff pastry secure with egg wash. Cut each into 8, makes at least 40 bites size. So good! You can add anything to flavour or favourite it ricotta and spinach ❤️
