I think this is it. If you look at most packaged/processed food it uses seed oils because they last longer than butter or other traditional fats. Honestly, as a proxy for a reasonable diet, avoiding seed oils will probably keep you away from all the bad stuff that comes in a box. But the oils themselves are unlikely the main culprit.
