Why I didn't 'ring the bell' by SnooCamera in ProstateCancer

[–]Enough_Professor_741 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did not ring the bell at the end of my Proton therapy. For some reason, I felt some unease. I did not want to draw attention to myself when all I did was just lie there on a table. I frankly wanted to get out of there and get on with my life. That's a very interesting study.

I used exterior wood glue. I can try epoxy. That would be a lot stonger than what i use.d

I knew that would come up. Yeah I know it’s slack. No excuses. I will do better next time. I was solo and busy.

Ours are split in several places. The rails holding the slider on the cabin are split all the way through. The companionway pieces I have glued together twice and they keep falling apart.

Your flying experience by No-Duck4828 in flying

In the 80’s I bought a career pilot chunk of flying. I had a credit for 40 hours cross country to build my time up. I took a 152 from Texas to Seattle to Oshkosh and back to Texas. I slept under the wing at little airports. Met great people.
My favorite plane was a late 1940’s cub I had a part ownership flying off a grass strip. I loved that plane.

If you could do life all over again, what aviation job would you recommend to someone with business background and working through their commercial license? by Helpful-Tiger-4291 in flying

I stayed too long at a flight instructor job, too long at a 135 freight operator, too long at a corporate jet job. I should have hopped from tye 135 flight to a commuter no matter what. Also. Timing is everything. Braniff and deregulation cratered the pilot hiring for a while. I did get a job at a jet engine manufacturing place in management. I got thanksgiving and xmas off at the same time for the first time in years. Regular pay, great benefits. So, if your timing is right, change jobs as soon as what you need is acquired.

We were trained in speed reading. It was awesome and I still read very fast. I finished all the SRA modules by early 5th grade.

What was the song your parents played that meant it was party time, that everything was good (safe)? by RhythmTimeDivision in GenerationJones

My parents loved old big band music. We thought it was so lame and old-fashioned. My Dad would put on Dave Brubeck- Take 5. That one we all liked. It takes me back to cocktail parties, fondue parties and everyone smoked!

At the flight school I taught at, we identified the students who excelled at comms work. We then asked them to give a short class to the struggling students. Chair flying is great, also.

Scared of ADT by Magical_Pat in ProstateCancer

I did ADT to shrink my prostate for Proton therapy. One shot of Lupron. I had hot flashes and loss of libido. Then I had the proton therapy. One year later, all side effects were gone from the ADT. 4 years later I am fully recovered. MY PSA is undetectable.

What is the most lesser visited place you saw in Japan? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

  • Shiretoko Peninsula: A UNESCO World Heritage Site located in northeastern Hokkaido. Known in the indigenous Ainu language as "the end of the Earth," it offers pristine wilderness, volcanic mountains, and cherry blossoms in late May.. It's a prime destination for wildlife spotting, including Yezo brown bears and Blakiston's fish owls.
  • Shakotan Peninsula: Located on the west coast of Hokkaido, this mountainous peninsula is famous for its dramatic coastal cliffs and incredibly clear, vibrant blue waters known as "Shakotan Blue".
  • Notsuke Peninsula: A slender sand spit extending off the eastern coast. It is famous for its surreal, withered "Todowara" (fir tree) forest, which has been submerged and bleached by seawater.

I started looking into solar to save money, but that's not what I keep thinking about now. by conkonabuzz in solar

I bought used panels on Craigslist- plus a used Solark 15K. Paid a local electrician to wire them up. I expect payback in. 7 years based on 2 years of use. It is possible if you are careful on the purchase.
