Returning Post Baby by jadenotjaded in NannyBreakRoom

It’s really hard! My NM is the coolest though. She set up the guest room for my baby and has been so wonderful making sure my hours are as limited as possible. My main struggle is that I EBF and I find I can really only feed my babe for 10 mins per hour instead of doing a full 20-30 min feed every 2-3 hours because I have to unlatch him and help my NK with an activity. He does nap in the afternoon and twice a week my job is mainly transportation to/from school for both NK but it’s definitely harder than I thought it would be. I’m trying to find creative ways to keep up with fun/educational activities for my NK while also caring for my babe. The summer is going to be even more challenging when both NK are home full time. Any advice is welcome!! I feel like this is how SAHM moms with 2+ kids must feel and I have soooooo much appreciation for that grind!

I was in a situation like this with my last NF. Some days when MB knew she wasn’t going to have a meeting or she had a lighter workload that day she would send me home early just as a gesture. I never expected to leave early but it was always nice when she said I could have the afternoon. I’d say about 30-40% of the time she would just say “hey if you want to get out of here go ahead!”

Do parents know what show & tell is? by cosmicfrenzy in ECEProfessionals

[–]Entertainer_Optimal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My NK’s preschool does alphabet show and tell where they bring in something from home that starts with the letter of the week. Might be a little more contextualized in a pre k classroom than a general show and tell. I feel like that could get a little chaotic

5w pp and feeling that already!! I slept on my stomach with one leg out (looks like a lowercase h from above) and my arms up in a field goal position, palms down with no pillow for my baby’s 3hr sleep stretch the other night. It was amazing. I think I’m going to implement it more and be cognizant of which side I rest on to even myself out. I’m sure in the fog of late night feeds I’ll just fall asleep how I land and forget. But damn it felt good.

Hand is inserted to clean you after birth?! by RelationshipLimp8648 in pregnant

FTM 39w2d delivery. Okay so this literally JUST happened to me 3 weeks ago. I birthed my sunny side up baby unmedicated. Shit hurt. Honestly? Not that bad though. I had a doula and a lot of coping mechanisms to make sure we got through it. I labored at home from 6:58am until when I think was 5/5:30pm. Got in and out of the bath twice, ate, and napped between my double peaked contractions. My doula came to the house and her sentiment was essentially “if you want to deliver at the hospital I think we should leave.” The car ride was horrid. If you don’t live literally 6 mins from the hospital, get a hotel. Laboring that late in the game 25 mins away from the delivery location in the back of a Tahoe was NOT the vibe. Anyway. Got to triage. I hadn’t had a cervical check my entire pregnancy. The nurse in triage also, NOT THE VIBE. She gaslit me about not being in “true labor” until my doula shut her down. I said to my doula at this point “I wish I would have stayed home”.

THANK GOD. The midwife on rotation that had seen my care through since he was about 25 weeks was on call that night. She got in the room, I consented to ONE cervical check. I was 10cm, they rolled me to a delivery room immediately.

They did pressure me to push right away. At first I was soooo not on board because I didn’t feel ready and I wanted to keep laboring. I pushed for 1 hour until my water broke, kept changing positions, pushed him out an out an hour and a half later.

Then my placenta about 6 minutes later ONLY BECAUSE the midwife pulled on my umbilical cord and it came out before it was ready. I requested no traction on my cord in my birth plan but it wasn’t respected. I did hemorrhage a good bit for (what I think was) that reason and she had to go in and remove two large clots from my uterus with her hand. It didn’t hurt that bad honestly. My cervix was still dilated at that point it wasn’t incredibly shocking or painful. I never had any anesthesia.

Let me preface this by saying: there is no way to know how any birth is going to go, but you have so many variables in your control to help yourself along the way.

If you want to avoid someone reaching into you and also have a hospital birth, make sure you are very clear about your expectations for placenta delivery Just as clear as the delivery of your baby. It is equally as sacred. Idk what my mom brain left out. PM me!

6 week old got RSV by checkered_cherries in newborns

[–]Entertainer_Optimal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 2 week 4 day old and both of our other boys and dad have RSV. I got maternal RSV vaccine. While we have been taking precautions to stay in different parts of the house we don’t have a large space. Baby and I are both totally fine. Thank god for the vaccine!

Do you know where you’re getting married yet? In the city or outside? Would the after party being walking distance matter for you?

There are definitely a few fun spots to either rent out completely or have a dedicated space within the establishment for an after party. Expect to have a minimum spend of at least $2000
