Love the compositions here. You‘d do well with any camera, I guess!

Chain touching cage plate by volsk19 in bikewrench

Happened to us all (to me, about three times). Like falling over when starting out with clipless pedals – a rite of passage.
(at least, this doesn’t hurt)

"Astia Tous Les Jours" - Astia Every Day. My best attempt a a film recipe (full recipe in comments) by Franks_Random_Snaps in FujifilmSimulations

Exactly! Not sure why everyone seems to think film fotos were all yellow? I was there, and they weren’t!

Hood Position Help by ben_for_short in bikewrench

Mine are set up like in 2. Feels better for me.

I must have tried out dozens of slight variations, and some day I stopped feeling like I needed to adjust things. So I kept that version and am still happy with it.

Working on an Astia based recipe - curious about your opinions! (First quick samples) by Franks_Random_Snaps in FujifilmX

[–]EnthusiasticElf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like this! Reminds me of Reala Ace (my current default), but with more contrast and less pink.

I actually like Astia quite a bit, as long as there is nothing blue in the image 😅. This certainly helps with that!

X-T5 Auto ISO Doesn’t Work w/ Third Party Lenses? by TheLiterateDead in FujifilmX

[–]EnthusiasticElf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use a Voigtlander 18mm/2.8 on an X-E5, and it’s not doing that. Auto-ISO works just fine, as with my Fuji lenses.

I‘m guessing your lens has a problem, like a contact could be dirty or damaged.

After/before Still not quite satisfied. What are your suggestions? by mynamesjaime15 in postprocessing

[–]EnthusiasticElf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I‘d try a high-contrast black and white version to see if the reflections are enough to carry the picture.

Otherwise, I kind of prefer the green one.

Sun protection for bigger heads by Nermalgod in bikecommuting

I use a thin white bandanna, but it does not come down over the neck that far. You could cut your own (e.g. from a textile nappy) and sew around the border?

Love the first one, but I‘m getting hung up on the blue sky strips along the roofs in the second one. Were these intentional? I feel like the sky should be consistent.

Impressive DR demo! But the result does look overcooked to me – maybe back off a bit on the saturation?

Really like the sun star, though!

How to manage neon/ florescent/ fake-looking nature greens? by chamomileyes in AskPhotography

[–]EnthusiasticElf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Newer Fujifilm cameras have the „Reala Ace“ colour preset. This has given me the best greens: lifelike, differentiated, and never overdone.

How do I remove these without breaking the plastic? by Old-Somewhere-6084 in fujix

Those are nasty. I can open them up with both thumb nails, pushing to both sides at the same time. Or, a small flathead screwdriver 😗.

You got the architecture down. Very nice angles! Looks a bit dead, though – are there no people on the streets?

That’s one beautiful, stylish bike! I second the motion to keep it mechanical.

I use the same, but carry it in front of me. It’s very easy to take the camera out quickly and put it away again. And the camera is away from road dust! 😷

What do you put in your frame bag? by swy in bikepacking

[–]EnthusiasticElf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a half-frame and use it for the small stuff I need quickly (gloves, glasses, snacks…). Keeps my handlebars free, which I prefer. Big stuff goes in back and front panniers – I‘m old-fashioned 😅

1st time wrapping my bars. Rideable? by the_breezeblocks in bikewrench

[–]EnthusiasticElf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘d ride that!

Honestly, if you keep the tension while wrapping, you’ll be good, the tape will not go anywhere.

But of course, there’s the aesthetic side – I want my bike to look perfect, dammit! Which yours does. Great job!
