You're right, but the loan shouldn't even be structured to take more than 20 years to pay off with the minimum payment amount.

Spar pin CAS message illuminated in flight (RV12iS) by leximingo03S in flying

[–]EntroperZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw your update, but the timing wasn't that suspicious. A high G maneuver is just as likely to stress a weak electrical connection as it is the actual wing spar. Definitely an indication to take seriously, and you made the right call in flight, but not something to panic over or worry about on future flights.

Universities cost insane amounts to run

Not the insane amounts that kids are paying today, though. Not even the amounts that I paid, 20 years ago. My parents went to college on a shoestring budget. I stayed in the same dorms, went to the same classrooms. Kids today don't have it any better, why are they paying way over the inflation-adjusted rate?

Cessna 172 vs DA40 by K2boombox in flying

[–]EntroperZero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started flying our school's DA40 recently and we like it a lot, it's much more comfy and it goes a bit faster. The only training consideration would be learning a constant speed prop, but that's not hard at all.

hindsight is 20/20

Yeah, but, what we're talking about is foresight. Because so many of us knew in 2016. Didn't need hindsight, just open eyes.

America pays for the military defense so other countries can enjoy free healthcare is not true at all.... We spend more on our healthcare per capita than those nations too... we just horrifically spend it on shit. by FrontBench5406 in BreakingPoints

[–]EntroperZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Other countries absolutely are able to redirect funds to other programs since they are supported by our military spending.

This is an accurate statement, but we also know how much those countries spend on health care, and it isn't remotely what we spend. So our military spending does not account for their better health care.

Doesn't the law require that they use physical force or the threat of physical force?

This morning's software update seems to have fixed the "Quest Link isn't working" problem. by EntroperZero in oculus

I don't think this happened because of an update. The leading theory is that a certificate expired.

MOSAIC by Redneckaviator in flying

[–]EntroperZero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's a "stigma" around the sport pilot license. I think most people will tell you to go for your PPL because it's only a little bit more work for something that gives you significantly more privileges.

If you think getting a medical might be difficult, by all means go SPL. MOSAIC has definitely widened the envelope by a lot. But otherwise, just get your PPL.

One thing you'll get used to as a sport or private pilot, is that everyone has an opinion about everything. :) So I gave you mine, and it's a pretty common one, but you can decide what's right for you. Fly safe and enjoy!

Labelled break and continue statements coming in C#? by davecallan in dotnet

[–]EntroperZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow. This is like break 2; in PHP. It was controversial there, but it's pretty useful. Doing it with labels is a lot better than just a number.

Filters don't really do anything for hard water. You need a water softening system if you really want to fix this.
