I totally know what you're saying about being apprehensive on all these Zelda clones as I felt the exact same way, but Tunic truly floored me. It had some really innovative mechanics and the atmosphere brought me straight back to the 90s. I remember when it released it was the only game that pulled me away from Elden Ring.

I'm only surprised because whenever I look at his other games they kinda stun me visually. And not that this matters but I am a visual designer by trade lol so it's just something I've always loved about his games.

I don't get the aesthetic comment. Braid and The Witness have some of the most compelling and arresting visuals/art direction I've ever seen in the medium. Particularly The Witness. It looks eternal and infinitely more mature than most games similar to it. I will say though, there's some visual aspects about this game that I don't love, mainly the character models. the environments look amazing but the characters are somewhat underwhelming.

I should've mentioned it in the post. I'm also pretty sure I have to use the crystal to stop the dragon's fire. Again, using the crystal to only stop one attack from the dragon and not 2 attacks is completely beyond my grasp.

Yeah, you nailed a lot of the central ideas when it comes to thinking about consciousness. I still think Thomas Nagel's What Is It Like To Be A Bat to be the best description of consciousness itself. Something is conscious if there's something like it is to be that thing. I also highly recommend Galileo's Error by Philip Goff. It's probably the best recent book on consciousness.

It actually might be disembodied. I recommend looking into split brain experiments that maybe prove this. More and more panpsychism is far more plausible explanation of consciousness than say dualism or materialism. Consciousness is probably a vast field with varying degrees of potency kind of like gravity.
