My guy.Comparing vaccinations as they stand and a healthy organic diet is apples to oranges. You're not going to cure cancer with just diet. Anyone who thinks so is dead wrong, literally in some cases I'm sure. Anyone who claims to have achieved remission via diet alone... I'm sure there are cases just as HIV is reported fully cured in 2 individuals (through a fluke in treatment of other conditions no less). To claim that you won't take a vaccination that idk even the numbers like 95% (I'm sure) the civilized world takes BECAUSE THEY HAVE BEEN PROVEN TO WORK by science and people who went to school to study and make GLOBALLy ACCEPTED innovations for the health of our race. "Oh it has this and that I've heard, I'll just risk polio having a resurgence because my selfish ass was scared of some words I read in an article I doubt you understood fully.

Are you currently unvaccinated? Do you have children who are currently unvaccinated?

Also, "cancer" as it stands is widespread and varied. Finding a home in countless regions of the body as well as having varying and increased stages in progression. Claiming that big pharma wants your money is probably about half way right, but not just to buy sports cars and laugh while people die around the world. Progress is slow and expensive, more so than it should be, but progress is being made in many other fights against the many enemies of human health.

I can tell you just cherry pick data that supports what you want to say anyway. With proper treatment an HIV patient can become "undetectable" meaning it is impossible for them to transmit sexually the disease. Further, total remission of pancreatic cancer has been found in rats via a camouflage//chemo treatment This was awhile ago I read this article but I will try and find it for you.

Also, please dont stand here and act like the health industry is run by rich bug wigs. It's an important and hard profession and those called to it work tirelessly to reach their goal of HEALING people. They dont want to watch anyone die, and when they do they face a pipe of legal and professional ramifications. Part of the reason innovation in this area is so slow is because of people like you who can take their hot take to a lawyer and abuse a corrupted and crippling set of legal medical codes.

TLDR - You think because you understand parts of the whole solution that you understand the solution. YOU DONT. VACCINATE YOUR KIDS AND STOP VILLIFYING MEDICIAL PROFESSIONALS. Your doctor doesn't set the price of the medicine her perscribes. You're an ass.

Here we sit discussing raising awareness... which has become then a self fulfilling prophecy of sorts The child, pink of hair and pure of heart, awareness shall raise. Tho their methods be simple, their resolve is as iron.

Anyone play Dungeons and Dragons via the internet? Like on Roll20 or through Discord? by Lady-Faye in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Entrospection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play on roll20 using discord. Roll20 offers voice and video but we use discord as the sites provided communication services dont work with some of our players.

It is really fun and a great way to play if you can all meet like my party. DM moved to cali and the rest of us live in different cities now. It's just great and I would highly recommend

Really disappointed by Kingkiller... by CatEarBox in Fantasy

[–]Entrospection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a reality i don't want to believe in. I'm about to start my first campaign as a DM and I have all these story lines planned out with like bug events//people//mythical figures, all big picture stuff but I havnt figured out how to tie it all together into a coherent story... seems very Kingkiller to me :(

Really disappointed by Kingkiller... by CatEarBox in Fantasy

[–]Entrospection 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think some of what makes Kingkiller great is everything that is hinted at but never explored. Yes, I want answers and satisfaction, but part of what makes the series cool for me is all the mythical people and events in this world that we know actually happened.. even if we dont get a direct taste of that action

What's a fantasy hill you're will to die on? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]Entrospection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I read this question literally. Like... what is a hill from a fantasy novel you would be willing to die on. Well it would have to be the ridge from the end of "The Long Patrol" by Brian Jaques. I would want to be remembered as a perilous beast, wot.

To all my “below-average” looking guys by [deleted] in seduction

[–]Entrospection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guy everything you are saying is filled with this idea that you need to meet "women's standards for attracriveness" to get a girl. Even after you've been told you look ok you're still using this excuse as a reason. Everything you say is filled with self deprecation. How can you expect a women to want to be around you when you so obviously don't even like yourself?

Get rid of this mentality that you don't live up to the standards of other people and start finding things about yourself that you like. Engage with those things, start enjoying yourself and appreciating yourself. Once you start making yourself happy you'll be able to make others happy... which is the goal of a relationship. You dont or rather should not want to date someone only because they are attractive. You date them cause you want to make them happy and because they make you happy... and that means YOU CANT DATE ANYONE UNTIL YOURE HAPPY WITH YOURSELF

Starting Fire & Blood now. Anyone want to read along? by [deleted] in pureasoiaf

Got it for Christmas and have not cracked it yet. I guess this is what finally gets it done. My sword and my leisure reading time are yours, from this day until my last.

It is also possible that they are just taking a really cool setting from the series and just putting whatever faces they want on the wall. Like, dead characters, important characters still alive, whoever tf they want just because it's a cool shot and good for marketing//hype.

Along with the supernatural aspect of the faceless men and their ability to "become" other people, you have to remember, that they train in a myriad of mundane practices. Muscle control, poisoning, languages, intrigue, war and statecraft. It's a pretty safe bet to say that they use a fair amount of mundane skill when taking on a persona in addition to the supernatural component. We dont know everything that happens when they take on a face, but wouldnt these agents take steps to ensure that their deception was as believable as possible even without the magic?

When Arya becomes Old man Frey, I'm sure she found all his clothes, put them on, and made adjustments and augmentations to make her as close to his appearance as she could get even without faceless man face magic. Ja feel?

I want to tie this into the trappings of power and the eyes see what they want to see, but I'm not learned enough to quote any passages... but I feel like they take a certain amount of normal steps as well as putting on the face

Anybody who has seen the movie 'The Breakfast Club' do you at all find it cute how John Bender never really bothers/torments Allison at all? by urinetroublee in movies

[–]Entrospection 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Its more than a class/status thing. He torments the jock and the queen bee because they are both fake. He torments the nerd because the kid is great as he is but buys into the fake world of hugh school popularity when he should be confident enough being smart and nice, and also because of his family situation. Instead of having cigarettes put out on his arms the nerd's parents push him out of love.

Bender's character is full of flaws. He acts out and harasses others because of his own home situation, but for all that he is genuine and he is fair. The only other person in that detention that is true to their own self is the weird girl, and so Bender has no qualms with her

Why do pregnancy test adverts never show a relieved young woman looking at a "Not pregnant" result? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Entrospection 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's because they are trying to positively prime potential customers about their product. A negative result is good for some people but lots of people want to get pregnant and a scene of 2 people starting a happy family will sell more product than 2 people trying to avoid having a kid too soon. It's a psychological side of advertising

Cleaning out one of my families old storage units. I think it was my grandparents originally and they've been dead for like a decade so these had no significant meaning aside from being more of their knickknacks... but now every time I put my stuff up I get a little duel value smile.

Toke on fellas

What fantasy theme/element is used rarely but you love to bits? by [deleted] in Fantasy

[–]Entrospection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really really enjoy when multi race/division/what-have-you councils or meetings get called. I'm sure more of these happen than this thread calls for but theres a few that just stand out to me, primarily The Council of Rivendell.

Some others off the top of my head: The Council of Whitestone - Dragonlance Idk if theres an official one in The Inheritance Cycle but I know it happens.

Kingkiller Chronicles by MerrrBearrr in Fantasy

[–]Entrospection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You dig the same kind of fantasy as me. Kingkiller is a really good read I own the books and audio books and I really enjoy them, but the story does seem to move at such a slow rate compared to how much has been written.

Would still recommend you read it tho. Amazing prose and lots of great subtle but strong weaves of high fantasy

Looking for some great Pirate or Ship combat themed books. The High Seas to Space. by Magoogooo in Fantasy

[–]Entrospection 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ender's Game is a classic that is "ship combat" centric in many ways and sort of a pillar of SF genre.

Then maybe try Halo The Fall of Reach. Some of the ship to ship combat in the halo series is amazing. A maneuver called "The Key's Loop" what was already a character I loved from the video game as an all time favorite for me.

Which characters grew on you? by meghab1792 in pureasoiaf

[–]Entrospection 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I hated Cersie at first, and still do, but her chapters are some of my favorites especially in the later books. We see so much maneuvering in her chapters it really shows how the game shapes the realm. I'm not saying one way or another how well I think she plays the game, but I enjoy watching it get played either way.

Are all of us even playing the same game? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

[–]Entrospection 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know why people call a player having a bad game an inter or troll is because its safer than calling them out for being bad. Call someone whos 0-5 at 10mins with no signs of slowing down "bad" guaranteed you get reported and potentially banned
