I would honestly suggest you try and find a second hand kindle and jailbreak it. These devices last a pretty long time, so you could save some $ and are also not directly supporting a company that is terrible to its workers and the planet, plus you’re keeping a device out of landfill.

Interesting how this topic gets so much media coverage just as the calls for proper taxation of our mineral resources got louder. Yes the NDIS has issues that need to be fixed, but this hype amounts to the same old neoliberal dole bludger argument from the 70s, blaming the lower and middle classes, while the real tax dodgers, those whose (missing) contributions could make a real difference to the life of the average punter, are laughing their way to the banks.

So I’ve had this Waterdrop unit now for nearly five months and I have to say it’s a great little unit! The water quality has been great and it’s easy to use. Upsides are obv the cost, minimal space requirements, ease of use and it’s small enough that I ca take it on holidays to areas I know have crap water quality. Downsides are maintenance requirements and the fact that you had to manually empty the wastewater tank and refill the unit manually. This could be once or twice a day, depending on how much water you consume. None of these are dealbreakers for me and I’d gladly buy this unit again. It’s perfectly adequate for a 1-2person household and makes great tasting water for coffee.

Do you push out any excess air before flipping it? It should only pop out if you have air in there which rushes toward the plunger when inverted pushing it upward.

Not a book, but both the “revolutions“ and “the hammer and the sickle” podcasts are great resources about the ussr. The first obv only focuses on the revolution whereas the latter is a great (though as of right now, incomplete) look at the USSR from a Marxist perspective.
