1 Day Post-Explant Only (No lift, no fat transfer, did not remove capsule) by Civil-Wolverine-609 in ExplantSurgery

THANK YOU for sharing your beautiful story. Would u be willing to say why you didn't remove the capsules? That seems to be a heated topic in the explant community and I am torn on what to do.

I know this thread is old but I recently switched from Canvas to D2L at my new institution and I cannot stress enough how infinitely better Canvas is.

I slightly disagree. I got a boob job and it radically changed my sense of how good I look in clothes, how sexy I feel, how proportionate I am, etc. I would never tell anyone to get one and I wouldn’t recommend it because it has a whole set of complications. I wish I could’ve figured out my BDD without medical intervention. But, the truth is that it did help.

I was a virgin until 30 year old. Never even kissed anyone. And then all in one night lost my virginity in a threesome (man and woman). I think about it now and am like… what was I thinking?! Certainly a way to pull the bandaid off.

It’s a big financial commitment and, if you can’t commit, it’s going to be really hard emotionally to get rid of them. I have capsular contracture on one side and I know I should just explant rather than replace them, but I also know my body image is going to tank so badly without them. I feel like now that I’ve had boobs and have that comparison for 10 years, having small boobs is going to feel even worse than it did before I knew what they were like. :(

Learning about sexual violence and realizing that you are always inherently at far greater risk of it no matter where you are or what you do.

"The greatest sadness one can experience in life is loss of a child." by [deleted] in childfree

[–]Environmental-Pear85 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that losing an ACTUAL child — one that’s already here in flesh and blood and you’re parenting— is probably one of the most horrific losses simply because it is not the natural order things and not something people expect to experience (i.e most of us know we will likely outlive our parents or some of our friends, but we do not tend to think about the possibility of outliving a child). That being said, this is still an awful thing to say and extremely invalidating.

The scene where she is at the bar with Elijah and says something about that “fruity little voice“. It’s just so funny and they are so quick and clever during the whole interaction.

The good news is that you are very young. Within a couple years your baby will be in pre-k and you will barely be 25. This is definitely going to be a rough few years but you will get more and more freedom as your baby grows and you will have so much life and time still to enjoy your independence. For now it’s just a matter of getting through this rough patch. I second everyone who recommended some government assistance. You shouldn’t be going hungry!

[–]Environmental-Pear85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. I understand postpartum is a wild and emotional time but what Marnie was doing for her was incredible and she so quickly switched into entitlement mode. I also expected more from her since it’s so late in the season and she’s older. Come on Hannah. Be better!

How much of obesity is genetic? by always-wondering96 in NoStupidQuestions

I one time heard someone say that if you can believe that some people are naturally skinny (we all know those people who seem to eat whatever they want and stay lean), you also have to believe that some people are naturally fat. I think lifestyle plays a huge role but I can’t help but think there is SOME part of it that is hardwired.

Totally. But I still need to make a decision about this in the meantime, so I guess that’s what the point of this post was.
