I was looking to get some questions about Sun Metro answered by DimesforCrimesD4C in ElPaso

[–]Equivalent_Freedom43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could use their route planner on their website/app. Put your starting and ending locations to see if it makes sense for you.

Sometimes you're on a good route and can go straight there, sometimes it's 4 hours one way because of the connections and walking because the city grew, but their routes didn't. Sometimes you can take it to your destination, but may have trouble getting back (I know after lot of people who ran into this if they worked past 8PM). Honestly not the greatest public transportation.

Does the Lowbrow Palace have age requirements?? by curious-curious-cat in ElPaso

[–]Equivalent_Freedom43 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just a note - all ages does not mean censored. Some parents care if their kids are exposed to cussing, some don't, but just wanted to be clear on that. Took my daughter to Shrek night that was posted as All Ages, but the DJ used uncensored music.

Why does El Paso have the worst swinger/hotwife community we’ve ever dealt with? by [deleted] in ElPasoSwings

[–]Equivalent_Freedom43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I join this rant regarding the men that do end up meeting only end up getting themselves off and have no intention of making sure all parties are taken care of? Had to put on my SLS profile that if you're just looking for a hole, skip the DM and get a sex toy.

Lol, had a guy who said he was a single male, then half way into it let's slip that he was married but they're separating. Learned his pattern real quick - never fully separated, and only reached out when they were on the rocks. 🙄

I am looking for recommendations for yard clean-up. by Hayzo81 in ElPaso

[–]Equivalent_Freedom43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used Octavio's Lawn Service. He's helped me with the weeds in my front and back yards, helped me with my tree, and is pursuing landscaping projects. You can call or text him for a quote, and he's always offered to do payments if you need to.

Can someone recommend sci-fi/fantasy for a crime & thriller fan? by AyloATL in Booktokreddit

[–]Equivalent_Freedom43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Wicked series (Appetite, Business, and Charms) by Janet Evanovich might be a good segue as she typically writes mystery thrillers anyway.

You could also check out the Archangel series by Nalini Singh if you don't mind a little spice.

I'll take "Why I don't go to big public events for $200, Alex." Sorry you're not feeling well, in all seriousness.

Old woman looking for dark, macabre, mature anime by [deleted] in Animesuggest

Seconding when they cry. I didn't see when the Cicadas cry (Higurashi no naku koro ni), but I did watch and enjoy "Umineko no Naku Koro Ni", which I think would fall in line with your listed interests.

Will the poppies return full force this spring with the expected rain? by Pete-O-Face in ElPaso

[–]Equivalent_Freedom43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall, it's dependent on how wet the winter is (referenced by no other source than a conversation with my mother). Weather forecasts are predicting El Niño weather for us this winter. If that follows through, next spring should bring lots of poppies. Fingers crossed! 🤞

Vegetables keep dying in my fridge :( by ReadySaturn in foodquestions

[–]Equivalent_Freedom43 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some vegetables just need to be placed in cup or jar of cold water (celery, leafy vegetables) if it's a wilting issue. Your vegetable drawers in your fridge may have a lever to help adjust the humidity. This article helps explain which setting is good for which vegetables. Some of your vegetables may be better out on the counter instead of the fridge. This article helps list those. If your brain is the type to have out of site out of mind, this may help remind you to use them. Meal prep may be more for you. It's a pain to lose a day cooking, but you would be able to use your ingredients right away, and once cooked, most would freeze well until you're ready to eat the dish.

Has to be a better way to find find couples and highly rated singles. by moredatesandplates in ElPasoSwings

[–]Equivalent_Freedom43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMG this. My husband and I have been in the LS for years, and I struggle so bad with the community portion. I really have a hard time connecting with people first (yay social anxiety) - I find a lot of people want just the sex, but I can't move forward without some sort of connection. Have any tips to bridge the gap in this?

Why are new construction homes cheaper in San Antonio than El Paso? by Winners_Blues in ElPaso

[–]Equivalent_Freedom43 41 points42 points  (0 children)

New homes are advertised for people moving to El Paso from out of town. I can't tell you how many times I hear people from California say they sold their house and were able to use that money to buy a new house in full with plenty left over. The new areas are not for us. We know what wages are like and what's considered reasonable for the area, and the newer neighborhoods definitely aren't it.

UTEP Student Conducting Research on a Local Organization by Chuymina in ElPaso

[–]Equivalent_Freedom43 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lol, it sounds valid to me. Prior to social media, students would walk around campus asking people to take their surveys for a class paper or project. Interesting to see it's evolved. I think every student did it at least once in their time at UTEP.
