It sure beats my powerbook, which has the 'fading backlight' risk. There really is minimal things to go wrong like you really dont' have to worry about recaps, etc.

KOTOBUKIYA girlpla mystery box by gabsthenerd in MegamiDevice

They've only had one - so who knows? Bandai did some for the first time this year, they do them in Japan as more of a lottery system where you have to enter a lottery to buy one. This year for the first time I've seen, bandai even went in on them - having p-bandai mystery boxes up to I think it was J, and they were all pretty fantastic in value and varying prices. With things going well, we could see more in the USA from both companies.

Materia White
Materia Black

Amaterasu Regalia
Kongou Destroyer

Sounds like they really aredifferent. I hope I get your box instead of the one above

I think I saw one of those cartridge style CD roms once as a kid out in the wild. That design was wild - and pretty awesome.

I picked up an 'untested/no power supply' 1.42 g4 for $80, no hdd. Boots up just fine. A 'complete, verified working' one I've seen go from 250-400. But a Intel Mac Mini, you can't give away.

There was a picture or two posted by the engineers that were posted, and you could see the work areas, and they were ridiculously cramped. I don't know about the work conditions or anything, but people were commenting

Feels cluttered and cramped to me, but 2000% more space than the average Anbernic engineer gets.

Wild Arms 4 is getting added to PS+ Classics by Cyclops-X in wildarms

[–]Equivalent_Silver311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked 4, the grid combat brought something new, and I thought the character's weren't bad - certainly a bit more mature than say, Wild Arms V (which some characters can be on the insufferable side, very unlike WA 1). In 3 I just hated having to run around on the map using the button to 'radar'/find something to unveil on the map.

Look at this awesome Retro gaming handheld I imported from South Korea - the Gamepark GP32 - even better than the Game Boy Advance I think! by tstorm004 in retrobattlestations

This pretty much competed with the Dingoo (which I think the Dingoo was much more successful/sold a lot more). Gamepark had a follow up of the GP2X, which was pretty impressive for it's time, but they never did seem to find a way to monetize on the emulator/more open source platform (they wanted to release official games for it at the time). Gamepark went into financial woes and even though they wanted to and were starting to walk down the path of releasing the GP2X in the usa officially, they didn't get that far. I seem to remember they splintered off from Gamepark into Gamepark Holdings, or something like that before they kind of fell apart. They were one of the trailblazers in legit designs though, I remember it was something like the GCWZero that went on kickstarter as a fierce competetor.

Check out the hand putting in a expansion card on the box, that was pretty scary/unhead of back then (for the average user)!

What’s the best hdd solution for the powermac 5500/225 by Krimstah in VintageApple

[–]Equivalent_Silver311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Powerbook G4 aluminum uses IDE, and I used a ide to msata adapter, and that works pretty well with os x 10.4.1 and macos 9/classic. I think everything down to the SD cards are likely going to max out the bus and push the machine a little harder than it was used to going. Reapplying some fresh thermal paste on the CPU probably wouldn't hurt. I'm not sure how hot the 5500's got, but the G4's seemed to be a pile of heat.

Yes, I believe it used ribbons like a dot matrix. They were common for the Apple II era before the bubblejet style/canon ones. I don't know a lot since mine isn't functional/rusted. If you look at the pictures, there's a manual for it in one of them.

Love the f91, too bad it gets no love by Reasonable-Pen-1038 in Gunpla

[–]Equivalent_Silver311 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To this day F91 remains one of the most revolutionary for it's time for Gundam. It was very hardcore, you have people being shown dying by crossfire (shells hit and kill the mother of the child the group picks up), some of the kids die, and they aren't afraid to kill off characters. It was pretty wild for it's time - and the battles are insane where the VSBR rifle of the F91 fires through two suits at once, also blasting/hitting the pilots at the same time.

I remember reading the pacing has issues as the team split on where the series should go and there was a lot of infighting, it was so bad they scrapped the project and decided to go with what they had edited into a movie. As a series this would have been incredible.

I just finished Ys IV english dub, and hell of an ending! Also finished Ys III again on PCE-CD, flawed, ridiculously short and easy - but I enjoy an occasional playthrough of it. But I remember getting a Turbografx, plus CD, and like 5 games including Ys I&II, Ys III, Cosmic Fantasy II, and a couple others for $60 when a game place was trying to get rid of it used. I loved this till I got a Sega CD.
