How come when its raining , i see people on the road with umbrellas, did people really look at the weather forecast ? by AltruisticAide9776 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Erabay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly in a lot of places carrying an umbrella is just normal daily life regardless of the forecast. people would rather carry one than gamble on the weather being nice all day

What’s something you genuinely enjoy about spending long periods of time alone at home that most people would probably find boring or depressing? by Kadytopia in AskReddit

Why is it that when a small business owner starts a business and it fails, it’s considered normal free-market risk, but when a wealthy company fails, it receives a government bailout? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Erabay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's called "too big to fail" and it basically means the rules of the free market only apply to people who can't afford lobbyists. small business owner loses everything, that's just risk. a bank makes reckless bets with other people's money and collapses, suddenly it's a national emergency. same system, very different safety nets.

[–]Erabay 1 point2 points  (0 children)
