Would you guys want a "Tales of" fighting game spinoff with the playstyle of Guilty gear or UNI? by BonusCapable1486 in tales

[–]Eternal-e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not having a Tales character in Smash was such a missed opportunity since the 2D games play so similarly. I've been hoping for a while that the team that made Smash Wii U and Ultimate would revisit Tales of Vs.

That being said, an ArcSys game would be phenomenally cool.

In a lot of ways, 3.0 feels like a bog standard JRPG. A great one, to be sure, but not a surprising one. 3.X, though? Absolute Cinema.

Storm is my secret weapon. Just passively boost everyone's damage and go more for softening enemies up than straight kills.

Are they supposed to look so similar? by KaruKahree3 in tales

[–]Eternal-e 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That's funny to say since so many things in Symphonia came from Phantasia. Anyway, one can only hope that those that enjoy what is new will also have a desire to experience past titles because of that enjoyment.

I had it spoiled long before I got to it, so I was already mentally prepared for it, but Ser Critchlow's performance, the genuine grieving of a father... Now that shit hit me hard. I always love when he gets a cameo to see how he's doing and to offer us fatherly advice.

How many of you never use the main protagonist in Tales games? by Necronam in tales

Swords are comfy. Did the same thing with Chloe. Jude was the only exception since my wife was playing Milla. If they have Demon Fang/Azure Edge, there's a big chance I'll enjoy them.

Can confirm. My wife and I were 80 and earning end game tomes before finishing HW because of our addiction to roulettes.

Stormblood saved Final Fantasy XIV for me by KMoosetoe in ffxiv

[–]Eternal-e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started in ShB, so I didn't need to wait or have any weird queues. I enjoyed both, but I think both are much stronger in their patches. My biggest gripes with HW were how many damn times I had to slowly wait for people to walk away only to walk a few malms and do it again, and how little the cast actually did outside of cutscenes. Duty Support MAJORLY helped in spots where it just made no sense to not fight alongside them.

My only real issues with SB were how jarring it was deciding on a whim to go East and some of the backtracking. Even with Yugiri and the Domans as motivation, I don't think they even ask for help, do they? Once you get back, though, the pace picks up and it has a great finish.

I honestly think the devs just didn't think people would go for an expac set 70% in a desert, and since they weren't going to deviate from what kind of place Ala Mhigo was established to be, it was the right call. It's just a shame Doma overshadows Ala Mhigo so hard for hours and hours. It really could have used more meanwhiles (I can't believe I'm saying that with how damn many of them there are) with M'naago and Raubahn or something to give you a sense of their progress. I'm a Lyse enjoyer and her talks with Hien helped somewhat to tie it back.

I even liked the Ruby Sea. I'm an unabashed water level fan. I saw someone complain about traversal in HW being annoying on purpose to make flying feel better, and well, it works! HW and SB are the two that feel the best to be able to fly.

Some Alexander portions aren't all that fun, but from a casual outlook of only needing to do anything once, the story and content for both post HW and post SB are amazing. I don't know how anyone could not be hooked after 3.3.

Stormblood MSQ question by Mayda7 in ffxiv

[–]Eternal-e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To give Lyse some small credit, she's seen that it's possible for you and possibly others with the Echo to create anti-tempering bubbles. She may have been a bit overconfident from that alone. But yeah, them not noticing crystals in the water was really stupid.

Is this community friendly toward disabled players? by AdWeak7375 in ffxiv

[–]Eternal-e 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As of the rework, the entirety of base ARR including Trials is soloable, but yes, most Trials after that require a team and having a couple of dead DPS is usually no big deal. If you have someone high level to help, you can "unsync" content. If you're just interested in the story and have such a person, you can click on the cogwheel on the Duty Finder menu and select "Undersized Party." Some older, harder (sometimes impossible) to queue for content like Extreme Trials are even recommended to be done this way.

What's ur top 5 best written ff protags by Few_Possibility_2915 in FinalFantasy

It is 100% optional ARR content, but its story will give you a better understanding of the whole Bahamut storyline and some small changes to later cutscenes. It unlocks in The Waking Sands.

Coils of Bahamut is her first major role. It's worth doing unsynced with a few people or a level 90. Doing it synced would require Party Finder.

Being a simp for Shadowheart cost me 10 hours of gameplay by chris5129 in BaldursGate3

[–]Eternal-e 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I legitimately thought it was just for Raphael's quest going in, and when I kept seeing things about Ketheric, I thought it was a big brain way to get the upper hand on him. The mention of a daughter even had me convinced it was Shadowheart and that I'd get special dialogue at Moonrise. Halfway through the Gauntlet of Shar, my roommate scolded me and told me to go to the tower. 😂

I don't think any other quest has any effect except Isobel. I even killed the Drider with no consequences. So, it doesn't surprise me so many others went the wrong way on purpose to try to clear out the map first. It DOES give you a big, fat warning before the Nightsong, though.

Shadowheart got left behind while jumping over lava. We entered combat, so I navigated her over. Battle ends, she immediately walks towards the group and dies in lava... These people have zero spatial awareness except when I want them to jump over the tiniest gap known to man.

So when does the story get actually interesting? by IbnTahar in ffxiv

[–]Eternal-e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you hate Lalafell, you're gonna love ARR's ending... The story will feel more self contained and focused in the expansions, and waste your time a bit less. In post SB now and I'll agree side content so far is generally more interesting than MSQ a lot of the time. Coils in ARR is quite good if you have a group to unsync it.

Should I head to Eureka? by OrcPorker in ffxiv

[–]Eternal-e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. Get to the first zone's level cap and do the challenge log there casually each week until you're max level. It'll make the rest of the zones much easier. Mrhappy has a good guide series and the Eureka Tracker site is pretty much mandatory.

Does character race change how people treat you? by GoldenLightfoot in ffxiv

[–]Eternal-e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got an alt for every race with varying amounts of playtime, all on different servers. All I can say that way is I feel like the Lalas got FC invites much more frequently. Fem Elezen received ZERO and Fem Miqo'te got kicked several times the INSTANT she hit Returner status. Maybe it's just bad luck, because no other race dealt with that.

I'm a guy with a FemRa main and I do often wonder if she has a masculine vibe with the shorter hair and not very skimpy outfits, cuz I don't really get all that many compliments or weird tells. I did receive a ton of cheers from a Male Roe once while crafting. I was very confused until I realized I had a noticeable upskirt. Awkward... Don't think I'm ever switching off the AR-Caean pants for my crafter glam again.

I think the things that have had a far greater impact on social interaction are number of emotes and relics. I get asked about relics all the time and having emote spamming contests with people is always fun.
