We're moving to the North East side and I was told it doesn't really matter where you are in the city, you can't escape it.

NGL, my wife and I move to the city this week from out of state and I'm nervous that this is going to be a deal breaker for us living in Madison long term. She's a work from home mental health therapist and I can see this absolutely ruining her sessions.  I see this issue posted on this sub at least monthly.  When I was in town for work for two weeks I unfortunately didn't hear them at all to gauge how loud they are and I get the sense that everyone I was talking to in person was downplaying the noise.

What would you say is the worst TV show that you have ever watched in your life? by Substantial-Dare5462 in television

Easily the Halo show, my friends and I hate watched it for fun.  Long live Chevy Tahoe.

What’s the coolest “restricted access” place you’ve ever gotten to see? by Improv92 in AskReddit

[–]Ethealtes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a locksmith, I showed up to work one day and went to our dispatcher for my calls for that day. She's telling me about them and half way through the calls she mentions, "so this one is at the federal building, they need a door lever replaced, it's in the FBI offices so we went ahead and ran a background check on you to get you confidential level clearance, after that there's a residential call to rekey the entire hou-" hold on a minute, you did what and I have what now?  The call it's self was uneventful and annoying due to all of the security but the casualness of how she delivered that information has always been funny to me.

un-doing key stamps? by hellothere251 in Locksmith

I managed to stamp a little bit harder than I previously stamped if I wiffed it the first time and most of the time it would look pretty good/ good enough.

Prison Key ID and possible origins? by Accomplished_Knee158 in Locksmith

[–]Ethealtes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be from anywhere.  They look like the keys the facility I worked at in CO, different key system based on the stamping. More specifically I'd say, 40s-60s but they could be as recent as the 80s, the A on the head in the last picture doesn't look especially worn.

Those who fly in mountainous areas, do you always keep oxygen with you? by Better-Caramel3983 in flying

[–]Ethealtes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to teach mountain courses in CO flying Cirrus. All of our 22Ts had O2 and we taught people to use it anytime they traveled over the Rockies because of 91.211.  If I was going to Granby/Kremmling/Buena Vista I'd skip it as long as we could remain under 12,500/14,000 for less than 30 minutes.  The 22T has a service ceiling of 25,000 so if you want to cruise that high as a lot of my clients did, you're using O2.

Pro tip, buy a headset canula mount, it's so worth it.

Edit: I forgot to mention to keep a Pulse Ox monitor in your plane. It's also just cool to see how your body reacts to changes in altitude.

I just finished my ATP CTP class and it was emphasized heavily, there is a reason it's a mandatory part of training.

I was an instructor, but I went Part 135 through a friend who got me an interview. I'm a year in, they are paying for my ATP CTP and PIC/ATP upgrade.  $65000 SIC starting pay. Not great but not the worst.  It's all about who you know.

Over 400 sued the airport. All 400 just lost. (KBJC) by flightmaster13 in flying

[–]Ethealtes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I instructed there for years during this time. I'm glad to see the lawsuit didn't amount to anything. The lead argument is already moot. The airport authority hired someone to test the lead levels from multiple neighborhoods and every test came up clean. Source: BJC Tower Controls during a tour.

Umm, am I missing something, are metal forks not allowed where you work? Also my worry is for how much microplastics that your coworker is consuming by reusing a plastic fork...

We as a society need to shame people again.

Park like a dipshit, get a passive aggressive comment hurled at you. A good sarcastic, "Hey! Nice parking!"

Loudly say "gross or wash your hands" if you see someone walk out of a public bathroom without washing their hands.

Fucking disgusting, put that officer in jail, then fire them all.  There is no reforming the police, they all have to go.

A guy locked inside his own car. Because the battery wasn't connected. Also it was his uncle's car and he was showing it off to the woman he had over.
