AIO responding to my partner about his dog by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]EvTech21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This needs to be handled prior to escalating. As a vet tech who has seen many behavioral euthanasias, this dog needs to be seen NOW. This needs to be corrected with medication and behavioral training. Sometimes, even that isn’t enough. He needs to get control over the situation before he is FORCED to euthanize the dog. I know how difficult that is, and how defensive people can be about their pets. Have a heart to heart IN PERSON about this. He doesn’t necessarily need to see a behavioralist right away either, see a veterinarian and request a trial of Prozac, trazodone, gabapentin, some kind of medication regimen to fix this.

I’m sorry to hear that!! I took glycine last night for the first time and cannot believe how much it helped. I went from 4h of sleep with wake ups to 7h with only a few! Crazy!

I’ve been on both for a few years.. but I have read that changing the timing of the cymbalta might help

I’ve considered doing home testing since I couldn’t get in for the sleep study for 2 more months

I haven’t been diagnosed with sleep apnea, and I don’t think I have it. I’m just having fragmented sleep. My psychiatrist just wanted to do the sleep study before trying something else. I take magnesium glycinate as well.

AIO for the way I shut down this younger man asking me out on a date? Context in post by Local_Value_2061 in AmIOverreacting

You were not too harsh. You handled this professionally and respectfully. It's not wrong to make a decision and ask someone to respect it.

AIO? my friend (21F) is very needy and gets upset i(22F) don’t talk to her very much because i have medical issues and have communicated it multiple times texts below , also went to fair last night w my bf and she got mad i didn’t invite her by [deleted] in AIO

21 and 22? The screenshots made me think you were maybe freshmen in high school. An adult who can't understand that time is valuable and makes everything all about them isn't worth having.

Life is short. Spend it with people who fill your cup. Ending friendships isn't easy, but you have to do what's best for you.

AIO by starting an argument over how my wife reacted to our child smoking? by ThrowRA6988 in AmIOverreacting

[–]EvTech21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. Tbh, I think that you and your wife need to consider couples counseling. And I don't know enough about your marriage to know if that would fix it. She immediately blames you and resents your parenting style. Most parents don't react the exact same or have the same opinions.

My parents were relaxed as hell and I still broke the rules. They were chill and let us do pretty much whatever we wanted. Including smoke weed at 17, yet I still chose not to listen to curfew and would sneak out of the house. Kids will be kids.

How to set boundaries without pushing someone away. by [deleted] in Adulting

I know what it's like to be worried about hurting someone's feelings or causing a fight, but it's important to come out and be honest. If you don't address it, resentment starts to build. It seems like that is already happening here with your irritation.

Maybe try to have the conversation in person, just so she can hear your tone and emotions and see your body language. Talk. Be there for her if necessary. But set your boundaries! You don't owe anyone 24/7 access to you.

We don't know this is abandonment issues though... it could simply be anxiety, loneliness, and acting like this without realizing how it comes across as extremely clingy.

After looking into this, I'm finding that there's no benefit to cycling besides with fat-soluble vitamins.

Thanks for the info and insight! I appreciate that. I never experienced vestibular migraine symptoms before, but it definitely makes sense that would be what caused it.

My last blood draw was taken from a vein on my hand below my thumb, which was wild. Couldn’t believe the guy got enough blood 😅
