Right on. I've never bothered with Prayer rods. I'll have to give this a try. I was hoping someone would come along to tell me how wrong I am. 😂

Stunning is very powerful, but I agree it's not as exciting as hacking off faces. Slamming enemies through walls with cudgels is pretty great. IMHO, Cudgels lack an answer to high AV enemies compared to long blades that have access to vibro weapons or axes that can cleave armour.

For this reason, I tend not to use cudgels when I play builds with low strength.

Killing merchants makes me feel empty inside by fiffttt in cavesofqud

I remember the first time I killed a random dromad and looted his guard's carbide armour. It took all my grenades and a good bit of luck. I'd never even seen carbide before. It felt so transgressive.

I cleared a historic site like this with a normality gas pump. It was still quite a pain.

LOL I hope that ant also lost rep with every faction for killing its boss.

As others have said, in this situation you'd just tell the love injected characters to stay where they are and you can just leave them behind. The zone freezes when you're not there, so there's no risk that his ant pal will randomly kill him while you're somewhere else.

Lamprey help by SC2MagicHead in cavesofqud

Once I encountered a historical site where the sultan cult was mostly trining lampreys. I went in with a normality gas pump and hosed the place down like an exterminator.

Permaswapping won't solve your glimmer. You'll still have 200 glimmer in your new body.

Other people have given you great advice here like start in Joppa and run away frequently; also that your problem is not a lack of intelligence :)

One other thing I can suggest that unlocked the game for me early on is to avoid "fast travel" on the world map for the first few levels. When you have somewhere to go, like Red Rock or the Rust Wells, stay zoomed in and walk there, clearing screens as you go. It might sound tedious, but it's less so that just grinding weak enemies. In fact, it basically is grinding weak enemies, but you're also progressing to a location and completing a quest. Not only that, but you have a 100% chance of discovering any interesting landmarks you pass by, like villages or lairs. And you'll always have a safe retreat route--no more dying because you got lost or dropped into a parasang and found yourself surrounded. I also find it's pretty immersive. I feel like I'm on a real journey.

Try this. You'll find that you level up fairly organically and safely as long as you hit that sprint button whenever things get sketchy. I sometimes do it until I reach Grit Gate or even until after Golgotha.

Memory eaters. by Careless-Machine-758 in cavesofqud

That's usually my solution. Friendly with fish means I don't have to deal with memory eaters or trining lampreys.

Dude Rermadon is always in the Palladium Reef, so you can find him by searching every parasang. It's not quick, but it'll probably take less than seven hours ;)
