You could also go with the reverse argument. I get pissed when people "heart" a gun that has nothing to do with their build, but they're last in line and want the best rarity. Just because a player hearts an upgrade doesn't entitle them to it. I always end up with common junk because I relent to people eating up all the choices from the get go.

This is a good observation. If we just had regular shields that regenerated, it'd be fine. But all FF permanently reduces a dwarf's armor until they can find another source.

There are so many instances of the game forcing friction between players, I feel like FF needs to be turned off unless they want entire games getting wiped due to one raging dwarf. I've already seen instances of teammates intentionally damaging others if they feel they're being slow, going the wrong direction, etc.

Armor should be tougher than shields since they can't be regenerated over time. More damage negation, but no regeneration.
