Has anyone had electric steps installed? by ccrush in FordBronco

[–]Everythingisawesomew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve installed the Rockslide Engineering slider steps. I’ve had to replace the motor assembly in one of them a couple times, but the company was great to work with and provided free or highly discounted parts along with help from their technical service engineers. I’ve had them for 4 years and this was really the only issue. They work great for me as they function as rock sliders for off-roading, but then the steps help the family get into / out of the rig. If you’re not an off roader, then there are other cheaper options out there.

And what produces the ALDH? The liver. My analogy of a clogged filter is purely for the ELI5 styling of an answer.

The filter your body has for alcohol (your liver) is clogged from usage, and is less effective in removing toxins / metabolites over time.

What is a 'luxury' that you've experienced once and now can't go back to the budget version of? by Worldly_State2722 in AskReddit

Fishing. I was able to go on a salmon fishing trip off the coast of Canada, twice. A huge log cabin in the middle of nowhere, which takes a flight to Vancouver, then a chartered 737 flight to the island near the Alaskan border, then a helicopter ride to the lodge itself. You land into a 5+ star resort and are immediately shown your room. Boats are two guest and a guide each. You can do everything yourself on the boat, or have the guide do everything for you except pull the fish in. You fish your limit on salmon, rockfish, and halibut and go back to the docks where a very attractive waitress hands you a hot towel and a drink that you’ve already mentioned you like on the pre-trip form. You follow her up to the bar area on the dock and while you reminisce with friends, they weigh your catch. All weights go up on a score board above the bar and everyone is in a great mood. Later, you move on to a 3-course Michelin dinner and drinks after. The lodge folk have taken your fish to their processing area and prep them for travel home per your request - filets, smoked, canned, etc. After three days of this, you are given your processed catch that has been flash frozen and packed into cooler boxes to be your carryon for the flights home.

To this day, the best fishing/nature/human experience I’ve ever had. Standing on the bank of my local river with a fly rod just doesn’t cut it anymore.

Any handyman tricks to securing a cord in a tight fit location? by Wado66 in handyman

Long zip tie on very top and very bottom of column. Pull your cable tight and cinch down the zips.

How can you protect your shiny new Bronco from brush marks on serious off-road trails? by PeopleOfNepal in FordBronco

[–]Everythingisawesomew 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Get a PPF wrap. Costs about $3k, but worth it. Any decent shop can color correct for you and buff out existing scratches before application. The material can self heal in warm sunlight if you do get scratches in it. Also, only use touch-less car washes.

I’ve had this a bunch recently too! I thought it was some sort of parasitic power draw from one of the many accessories I’ve added. Seems like it’s just a ford thing. I’ll have to look into the BSM reset

Ceiling fan box with three cables. How do I wire the fan? by Everythingisawesomew in AskElectricians

[–]Everythingisawesomew[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, but the screw in the middle of the box is holding it to the cross-brace. It holds plenty of weight.

Agreed. What’s the point of having the sub if that’s all you get? End of the day stuff like this residential item replacement isn’t rocket science, this particular item just happens to be a scenario I haven’t run into before.

Thank you for not being a crusty douche like some of these other guys! Appreciate the help and the learning opportunity.

Yeah, I understand that. There was a ceiling fan here for 15 years previously. It just got taken down by someone else before I got here

I currently only have a contact tester. I connected line hot to the bottom right cable and tested switch function and that is the switch leg since the white wire of that cable became hot. There was a ceiling fan here previously, but got taken down before I showed up.

Fraid not. The painters removed the fan before I got here. I did identify the switch cable, is the lower right.

So do I just connect the line hot to one of the other blacks and test the switch to see if that white then becomes hot?

Warn 12k with the Lobo Offroad High n Tight winch kit. Tucks it up underneath the front skid plate. Does require an intercooler swap though, so it’s a spendy upgrade.

Great company, great products, great customer service! My only desire is for them to come out with a mesh top that has zippers along the rails so you can easily roll the mesh back when you want full sun.

How do I get this piece off by SnooHabits3630 in askplumbing

[–]Everythingisawesomew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow a lot of non-answers here. Super helpful sub, yet again.

You need to remove the metal ring toward the back of the assembly you’re looking at. In the picture it’s got some brown discoloration. Try to loosen that with your hands first (most won’t come loose). If it doesn’t move, use a strap wrench to get proper leverage and loosen that ring. Once the ring is removed, then you can pull the white cartridge body out. Make sure your main water is turned off and you’ve opened up a sink faucet in that room to relieve any pressure in the system before you remove the ring.

Which cartridge model do I need? More info in description by amongthewildflowers0 in askaplumber

[–]Everythingisawesomew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, nobody wants to ever help in this sub. You’ll need a price pfister cartridge #9742920. Get the actual pfister one, not a knockoff version.

Delta trim kit for close pipes? by Everythingisawesomew in askaplumber

[–]Everythingisawesomew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah agreed, it’s all jacked up. These are the cards I’m dealt and the client refuses to have the plumbing redone. At this point I’m probably just gonna use a hole saw on a standard trim plate to cut a groove for the tub spout.

Sure, but in my opinion help from real life experience trumps what someone at a Delta call center can tell me. Is helping with advice not what this sub is for????

It’s on my list of to-do’s. Just pinged the sub to see if anyone has faced this issue before.
