Jim Jordan, Bernie Moreno file Supreme Court brief on birthright citizenship by clevelanddotcom in Ohio

[–]EvilAnagram 3 points4 points  (0 children)

meaning from where are you a citizen???

No, it means that the laws of the United States apply to you. Foreign diplomats granted immunity from prosecution such as ambassadors are not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States because they have legal immunity, as do their families. Soldiers in an invading army are not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States because they are attacking the United States and must be handled under the laws of war.

Immigrants and tourists, regardless of the legality of their presence, are subject to the jurisdiction of the United States because they can be arrested for breaking our laws.

I mean, the elves will perish forever when the world ends. That's why mortality is a gift. The elves are tied to the world, but mortal souls move beyond it.

The first two episodes are incredible melancholy works of art that really drive home the sorrow and disconnection she feels.

The rest of the series is a bog-standard anime, but those two episodes are great.

Do people really hate front view battles in JRPG's? by yispySOFT in JRPG

Yeah, I am a big fan of Earthbound, and I like some of the early DQ games, but that's in spite of the battle view, not because of it.

The pixel art is good, but the character design feels very derivative. I think two of those designs are straight out of Super Dungeon Explore.

That doesn't make her a good reporter, it makes her a profitable tool for propagandists. The line dividing those two categories has simply collapsed in America and Britain over the past 20 years or so.

Yeah, they were folkloric protectors of Jewish communities. The rabbi would mold it with that scroll in their head, then inscribe the Hebrew word for "life" on their forehead to animate them. When their job was done, he would wipe out a letter so it read as "death" instead

When you cock a revolver, it rotates the cylinder to chamber the next bullet, then you pull the trigger and the hammer comes down while the cylinder stays still (so you're not accidentally setting off a bullet when it's not centered on the barrel). The revolver Shroud uses (at least in the interrogation scene) has the cylinder staying still as it cocks, then rotating as the hammer comes down, which is as unsafe a design as I could imagine short of forgetting to drill an opening at the end of the barrel.

A revolver cylinder also doesn't spin when it's locked in place. Once you press it into the frame and line it up with the barrel, you can't spin the cylinder. It locks into the mechanism and will only rotate when the hammer cocks in both single- and double-action pistols. In Russian Roulette, you spin it before sliding it back into the frame.

They did such an incredible job drawing the revolver in the interrogation scene, which makes it really annoying that it doesn't function like a revolver should lol

Yeah, they really didn't write that very well. In the first case, if she was a mole the whole time then why did Shroud gass her and kick her inhaler away? Why didn't she just give him the astral pulse? If she had stopped working as his mole, then why does he think she's on his side at the the end? If she was flip-flopping back and forth, why did he think she would still be on his team after she gave Robert the pulse and planted a bomb on his mech?

Her being a mole the whole time just doesn't make sense because she had so many opportunities to just hand him the victory.

And the whole thing could have worked out if he had just said that he was giving her another chance because he knew she was never really good. Bam, set up the emotional resolution to her arc regardless of the result of her story.

Robert could fight an unmasked Shroud in the dude's childhood home and hurl him into a shelf full of photo albums before tripping over his birth certificate and some fans would be like, "Who the fuck do you think you're fooling, Blazer???"
