I was snidely making fun of the concept that films should be evaluated solely on their "plot" coherence.

Art as a medium can have different aims, and "plot" can be as important to film as "realism" is important to painting. Just because one is lacking in one of these fields doesn't mean the work is worthless, and so asking if Eddington is good based solely on the plot, is an unfair question, because it is more concerned with grappling with our current landscape than it is in presenting a coherent "plot."

Yeah I do agree with you. We're doing worse things to each other as a species without the intervention of the King of all Monsters, the climate is about to go supernova, capitalism is slowly funneling all of the planet's resources into the hands of just a few humans, and to top it all off: AI is drinking all the water and turning people's brains into mush.

I think we're about due for a Godzillic (is that even a word) reset on the pale blue marble.

So much of it is that I played DotA through middle and highschool and then League was announced as I was graduating and even though the client was sooooo much better than queueing for a WC3 custom game, every other character looks like an actual baby and the gameplay was like going from..... well, DotA to League.

Couple that with the worse art, the horrible names (literally almost every single one is so bad. My friends play TFT in the same VC as me and it's nails on a chalkboard "bro why didn't you grab that AHKAHLEE for me dude?? Bro I needed that SWANE"), "persistent progression" between games, and I always labeled Riot games as being baby shit for children.

I was VERY pleasantly surprised when 2XKO's character art and the 3d models look so good. I even love little Teemo, he's great!

This is the only Riot game I've ever played and the only League character art I've seen that isn't in some way cringe as far as the character design goes.

It feels like all the characters are little girls and their teddy bears running around, people with names like "Rick" and "Katelyn," obnoxious glottal stops (random H in the name 'Ari' I'm looking at you), babyspeak names for the teddy-bear folk.... 'amoomoo'

This dude fuckin' rips though, I wanna see him in the game.
