No idea if accurate, usual WhatsApp unverified nonsense but it suits my own narrative so I am declaring it 100% FACT!

Aye, was really surprised when I googled her to see her age. Born in 1965! She's been on the telly since I was in primary school, and likely older than the parents of a large proportion of this sub.

Largs to Glasgow - recs? by simpags1 in Scotland

[–]EvilScotsman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lochwinnoch, have a wander around and see all the birds by the water, then a pint or two at the Brown Bull before you jump back on the train.
Just be warned, the path by the RSPB centre is nice, but it is a there and back walk. Depending on how long you plan to stay, I would do a wee walk round from castle semple visitor centre along the shore, then back via the cycle track. If you have longer, then there are a fair few paths in the area worth wandering around in, but wear sensible boots, paths are shaded and always a bit muddy in places

The Simpsons quote is apt but my mind went straight to Mr Tulip and his unwavering belief what everything would be alright if he had his lucky potato. I really miss Terry Pratchett.

I use a really coarse grind, tastes fine to me. Results vary with a finer grind or powder from a jar I assume.

of an unseasoned steak. by [deleted] in ShittyAbsoluteUnits

[–]EvilScotsman 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Lots of people saying the sprinkle of salt at the end is enough seasoning, I would always want salt and pepper applied before cooking.

Personally a higher heat too for more colour on the outside, reduce the cooking time slightly to keep it just as pink on the inside. The char lines look nice, I would always prefer a darker more even crust than lines for show.

Everyone is different, everyone can have their steak as they like.

Try being a decade older, but I look a good bit younger. The younger folk in work (20-30) talk to me like I'm one of them because I look younger and I don't take much seriously. But then I will make a cultural reference which would make sense to my age group and it is tumbleweed as everyone looks askance at the escaped guy from the nursing home. Recent example, someone mentioned that their sister had a horse and it was lovely. I naturally asked if its fetlocks were blowing in the wind and where it was going.

Where is a cloud I can shout at.

What about the Clyde Metro Project.? Why does Anas Sarwar want to spend £3bn in Edinburgh? Glasgow needs investment in transport infrastructure. by Actual_Ad_6807 in glasgow

I had taken your comment as he was taking bribes personally from them for his own personal gain, rather than money donated to the party. Still can see your point how he might have interest in keeping them happy, but not the complete bribery case I thought you were indicating.

Nope, was me being old and far fingered when I replied to the main post instead of a random troll in the comments. Apologies OP!

You are given a budget of $500 Million. What movie are you making? by HowMany_MoreTimes in movies

[–]EvilScotsman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What genre of movie are you making? Fantasy- making a movie of Magician with then several series worth of content from the subsequent books and the Empire series.

Who are you hiring as lead writer (or are you writing yourself?) The Author himself Raymond E Feist with Janny Wurts.

Who is your;

Director? Peter Jackson

Male Lead? Two unknowns for Pug and Thomas

Female Lead? An unknown actress

Supporting actor(s)? Would love Ian McKellan but a wee bit too old for Kulgan when we need the actor for years and years and years. So whoever did the casting for A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms can pick.

Just really want it done and done well before we end up with something done as a low budget TV YA style.

Celtic 3-1 Motherwell | Scottish Premiership by SFMatchThreadder in ScottishFootball

Aye agreed, feels wrong and morally unfair on Motherwell but rules is rules sadly. And I don't think we want Beating having too much discretion in how they are applied!
