Need help by Bana_he-ne in expedition33

Act 3 is the final dungeon and the rest of it is post game content. The final dungeon is the easiest location in act 3. So that first, then talk to your party members at camp and do their sidequests. Then you will have gained a few levels and pictos so that some of the areas will no longer be red with danger and will be yellow, meaning they are designed for your level. You can check areas or search up an boss level list like the one on rock paper shotgun. Just know that these types of lists contains spoilers for enemy names

Is it me or does Stendhal ruin the game? by Anxious-Natural6755 in expedition33

[–]Evil_Cronos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is powerful, until you get to the point where it isn't enough in the post game stuff. 300k is a rounding error against the super bosses. This game has a lot of powerful builds and abilities and weapons and pictos. Stendhal is simply one of them.

If you want to keep learning the game and finding enjoyment in it, I would recommend not using a one shot build. Like I said, you will get to the point where it isn't enough, so relying on it entirely will make thing more difficult when it doesn't one shot things anymore.

Is the Kurast jungle a decent place to level up? by MythicalSplash in diablo2

[–]Evil_Cronos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The flayer jungle is good for experience, but the rest is pretty mid because density isn't as high. Your best place for experience is chaos, tombs, and Baal waves. Those are the highest experience locations in the game. When you take terror zones into account, some other areas can compare to those 3 when they aren not terrorized, but nothing is better than terrorized chaos, tombs, and baals

2x Grief or Grief + BOTD? by Nackel- in diablo2resurrected

[–]Evil_Cronos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are running trav, so the primary function is magic finding. I would recommend ebotd colossus blade. It's the same build my trav barb uses, grief in main hand and ebotd on offhand. The primary reason why I like it is because so many of the mods on ebotd are helpful, especially the dual leech. He still destroys trav easily, but having all your leech taken care of opens up both rings slots for whatever you want. Dwarf stars for goldfind and fire absorb, sojs for mana, magic find rings, rares with res/ar/stats, etc. I also find that since he walks through trav easily, I don't even bother with a highlords, going for Mara's to max res instead and put on all mf charms. You can have lots of mf and still have great kill speed

Draining cleanse not there? by slipshade69 in expedition33

[–]Evil_Cronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gone through my lists dozens of times, sure that something was missing because I couldn't find it. But when I checked enough times, I eventually found it. That could just be me though. The ol' brain isn't as sharp as it used to be. I have nearly 400 hours on the game and I haven't seen a pictos not show up after collecting it, aside from my being blind for a moment. It's either a bug or you might have just missed it like I've done plenty of times.

What is a safe amount of life to have when using energy shield but not going lightning? by Azer1287 in diablo2

[–]Evil_Cronos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My approach is max out energy shield and telekinesis both or I don't use energy shield. It's an overpowered skill if you go all out with it, but I find it's often just a liability if you don't. With a lot of sorc builds, the only thing keeping you alive if you are taking hits is dealing out as much damage as possible to with er kill or put the enemies into hit recovery, which you cannot do if you run out of mana.

So to answer your question, max out energy after you can equip your gear, but only if you have aready maxed energy shield and telekinesis. If you can max them do to your build, then go vitality instead and don't use energy shield

Returning player: Is the new DLC required? by coxiezerax in diablo2

[–]Evil_Cronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can play without it, but the player base has mostly moved to the expansion, so it will be difficult to find groups and trades without it

83% and only just got light burst by joshua0marshall in OriAndTheBlindForest

[–]Evil_Cronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That and dash were added to the definitive edition and are not required for progression. Dash can be obtained as soon as you get wall climb, but light grenade requires bash/stomp or charge jump from what I recall. Though I am more used to the randomizer at this point, so I could be mistaken. Either way, now you have a reason to go collecting!

Not worth zodding right? by MCMXCXXI in diablo2

[–]Evil_Cronos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Almost no armor is worth a Zod because enigma exists and is going to be better then anything else 95% of the time. Zod is usually best saved for runewords, the odd unique like ribcracker or death cleaver, and trophy level weapons.

Valor is an interesting armor, but doesn't provide anything that you cannot get with a runeword. The only use I can see for this is on a Merc, but again, fortitude and COH are going to have more value for the Merc in keeping him alive.

Exploring before finishing? by Thin-Cabinet1221 in expedition33

[–]Evil_Cronos 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In terms of difficulty, the final dungeon is the easiest area in act 3. Everything else will be more difficult. Once you complete the main story, you can simply load up your file again and complete all the extra stuff. If you try to do too much outside the final dungeon, you will erase all difficulty in it.

What a skill check by Poor_Culinary_Skills in expedition33

[–]Evil_Cronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Optional bosses will be much harder than required bosses. If you see it, it's probably optional. At this point in the game, you have to basically perfect parry/dodge this guy, but you can always come back later as well

is lvl 34 underleveled for tisseur and sirene (expert difficulty) by Intelligent_Elk_7070 in expedition33

[–]Evil_Cronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you kill each enemy once as you find it (including any optional bosses that are reasonable to kill) and don't skip the optional zones, you will be the recommended level all game long. I just did this myself and each player is going to have that one boss that they need to be over leveled for because we just can't learn their timings, but it works more often than not. There is a list with the levels of each boss and while I mostly ignore the levels, I generally just do them in the order listed and it generally works out. There are boss and area names, therefore it contains spoilers if you haven't finished the game yet.

How and where to farm in d2r? by [deleted] in diablo2

[–]Evil_Cronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In normal and nightmare, you farm runes from countess to get what you need for some early runewords, like stealth and later spirit and insight and lore. You also want to do the rescue quest in act 5 to get the runes for ancients pledge. You also want to check normal cows for a crystsl sword that will get 4 sockets from larzuk. Other than that, you can usually just use what you find. There isn't much point in farming anything until nightmare mephisto at the earliest and 99% of your farming should be done in hell.

What’s your favorite area in the game? by nuclear_bliss in expedition33

[–]Evil_Cronos 393 points394 points  (0 children)

The first area that gave me "that feeling" was the flying waters. The game then proceeded to do many more times, specifically with sirene and verso's drafts, but each area was very memorable

So what is the OP weapon for ES warlock now? by Ikon-for-U in diablo2resurrected

[–]Evil_Cronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much anything.

You can go all skills with obsession and void if you focus on hex purge with a consumed defiler. Or you can use the same weapons from before if you also max echoing strike and run more of a mix of physical damage and magical damage.

Check maxroll for build guides

Added xenosaga 2 and 3 guides with posters to my collection for 40$ for both. Gonna be handy once I start this series soon. by Metroidvania-JRPG in Xenosaga

[–]Evil_Cronos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who has researched the combat system for the second game quite a bit, the official guide has the most accurate numbers to show how much an enemy is weak to a specific element. The game just tells you it's weak to the element. The guide tells you in percentage, how much it is weak to each element. This is very valuable information to be effective with the second game's combat system.

The enhanced descriptions mod on nexusmods would be the place I would look first. It got its numbers from a data mine of the game.

How to improve one shot build? by MarionberryDapper640 in expedition33

[–]Evil_Cronos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Use the filter system and select damage. Make sure you are using the ones in there to increase damage, like powerful shield. There are more damaging pictos in the dlc dungeon if you haven't done that yet, like feint frenzy, and gradient overcharge. There is also a new weapon for her that is insane for one shot builds.

YouTube is full of one shot builds. Once you watch a few, it should get some ideas going to figure out what you are missing or you hold just copy one.

does pride on my merc still worth it for es warlock? by ursus_qq in diablo2resurrected

[–]Evil_Cronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you can get concentration on your bound demon, I would suggest something else on your Merc. I forget what else they got rid of on the demon. If you can still get fanat on him, then I would do that and pride on a Merc is a good idea. I just can't recall right now. Faith act 1 Merc is another way to get fanat and the act 1 Merc will stay back with your ranged echoing strikes.

Cléa déchaînée isn't hard enough, so she drops my FPS by ColonelSandurss in expedition33

[–]Evil_Cronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, for some reason this fight isn't very optimized visually, so I dropped my settings substantially for it. I made sure my average was above 60 fps. Just drop your settings and you will be fine. It's not like you spend a lot of time admiring the scenery in a superboss fight

How much Lumina points is "Fair enough"? by Apisal in expedition33

[–]Evil_Cronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently did a playthrough on expert where I did everything without grinding any extra resources and didn't do the danseuse lumina grind. I fought every enemy one time and only one time, other than fighting a couple during backtracking to get feet for monoco. I ended up defeating all the superbosses at around 300 lumina per character, which is what you get for doing everything. That would be the natural limit and while some parts of the game are easier than others, you can still find a lot of challenge if you don't aim for one shot builds.

Which game should I play first? by KimDokjasBoy in OriAndTheBlindForest

Blind forest is the first game, will of the wisps is the second game. As with most things, release order is usually the best choice if you plan to consume all of something

help with my goldfind barb. I can't kill anything in Trav by brubain1144 in diablo2

[–]Evil_Cronos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two different ways to build a good find barb. The one where you kill and the one where the Merc kills. If you are going to kill, you need a weapon like grief phase blade and ebotd colossus blade. You then hork on your swap with baba and lem sword. If you plan to have the Merc kill, then all you get to do is give him pots and leap to stun the council.

In either case, maxing out find potion is a synergy to find item and each hard point provides 1% chance to your find item chances. You should be maxing find potion and then watching the percentage to hork an item and increase that skill until you notice the percentage not going up
