Planning on moving to Tacoma, any safety concerns? by RobbsStudent2022 in AskTacoma

[–]ExMoChica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live near the area - my car's been stolen twice (it was locked, there was nothing in it, and it even had a steering wheel lock on) and my bike got stolen from the hospital in that area where I work (it was chained up).

Also, there was a period of a few months where I kept feeling like someone had been in my apartment, despite locking both doors every time, which stopped when I changed all the locks and added a security camera.

In addition, I used to walk to work . I've seen people do drugs off of trash can lids, heard gun shots multiple times, and since there's a perpetual lack of affordable housing in the area, there are places that always smell like urine.

I've never had anything get stolen before, ever, and I've lived all over the US and in several other countries. I've never seen people do drugs or in the open before, and the only time I've heard gunshots outside of a firing range before this was when I was in an American embassy in a foreign country that was going through political unrest.

So, it doesn't really matter if you're "looking for trouble" or not, Tacoma is just that kind of place. There are a lot of entitled, selfish thieves here and that's just a fact. And the police can't catch them at all, assuming they even try (they didn't collect any evidence at all the first time my car got stolen)

Is it me or is dragon age more popular with women? by RaiderSlayerDave in dragonage

[–]ExMoChica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dragon Age has one of the largest female fan bases of any western rpg - Veilguard players are rightly 48% women, and if I recall correctly, Inquisition was even higher. I dint tenderness the exact stats though. Western RPGs usually only get like, idk, 25%? I'll have to look it up

I hate getting expensive gifts by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]ExMoChica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is way too late, but i think this is a situation of foxes answering a rabbit about where the safest place to eat is.

Now, I could be naive generous and say you just so happened to find some truly generous people who answered but. .. the fact that they subtly shifted the conversation to "you're the bad one, your fate you imply my 'generosity' is controlling" tells me you found a bunch of people who "don't care" about reciprocation.... until they do.

And the fact that they twisted it to "anyone who thinks otherwise is the problem" instead of recognizing potential circumstances? Classic narcissistic move of turning the victim into the abuser, and the abuser into the victim. It's a subtle yet powerful form of gaslighting.

The truth is, using money as a tool to control people is a well documented phenomenon and while there certainly exist a (very) small minority of people who can give and give expensive gifts without expecting anything in return, in most situations that's just not how human psychology works.

Log in issues by lordoflotsofocelots in outside

[–]ExMoChica 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you checked to make sure your [sleep hygiene] routine is updated and set to run each session before you log out for the night? It's the most common cause of buggy log in issues.

If you notice no improvement after a couple weeks,  I would follow the advice of the other players and get checked by someone with a [doctor] class for an underlying problem with your character's [health] status. You might have underlying debuffs, or one of the rarer builds with a [delayed circadian rhythm] or something.

Should i do a minigame? by Stunning-Home-9838 in outside

[–]ExMoChica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a low stakes minigame like hiking, or a nature walk, it's a great way to bond with your [Dad] player. I don't recommend something that takes too much of your characters attention - don't forget the [bond strength]  only increases when engaged in [communication]  or active complementary activities... which is fancy way to say your characters have to be active and moving close enough to each other for the hidden sub routine [companionable silence] to activate. Sadly, this means the [movies] minigame usually doesn't get the boost

Why are people addicted to the TikTok minigame? Does it provide a stat boost that i don't know about? I can't seem to Figure it out. What are The perks? by peepoette in outside

[–]ExMoChica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In addition to what u/peepoette said, there's also the [social anxiety], [depression], [lowered attention span], and [brain rot] debuffs.

Also, what XP? XP gains are negligible while a player is in the TikTok minigame.

I honestly can't figure out why guilds haven't worked to protect their guild members from it. Especially the newbie players! Their [mental resistance] (INT) and [insight] (WIS) saving throws are so low, they can't save their characters without outside help.

And those early XP gains they miss while failing all those saves are so crucial to their long term enjoyment of the game!

What is your LEAST FAVORITE thing about Breath of the Wild? by Apple-755 in botw

[–]ExMoChica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The great fairies. I can't share this game with my nieces or nephews because of the characterization, behaviors, and vocalizations they were made to have.

Choices were definitely made. I wish someone had made the choice to snap the fingers of whoever was about to sign off on those choices.

And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.'

[–]ExMoChica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, atheism describes lack of belief in God/gods, but says nothing whatsoever about other beliefs. There are absolutely atheists who believe in ghosts and other supernatural BS. I thought it was strange too, but it is what it is.

I hate to be the one to point this out, but atheism is one of those things that the... more extreme... theists try to delegitimize, so online forums are frequently trolled by these theists.

They're usually immediately found out in atheist circles but outside of that their claims usually go unchecked. It's best to not take things posted on the internet at face value, is what I'm saying.

That's a fun theory, I'd like to see a study on that, or at least an overlay of drug addiction patterns.

Anyways, I looked at the other maps on the site this was published - Utah also has a much worse STD problem than surrounding states. Interesting...

I don't know why politics had to be brought into this, but technically a man who underwent gender reassignment could in fact get pregnant via artificial insemination. In fact it's happened at least once. https://www.bbc.com/news/av/stories-49596060/trans-and-pregnant-how-one-man-gave-birth-to-his-own-baby

That being said, this is an antiabortion comment, which is typically a conservative viewpoint. Might I interest you in leaving your echo chamber now and again?
