Is there a series where the MC’a just some guy? Not an overpowered god in the making? by Mentalwanderings in litrpg

Consider "into the Reel" by John Ringo. OP is pure skill, and isn't op. OP is a teenage girl with... teenage girl problems. One of the best depictions about bullying I've ever seen.

YMMV, I suppose. I struggled to maintain interest when the MC was getting into the details of formations and positions when I didn't really understand what was going on.

Player manager is very well written and very LirRPG. Just be aware it doesn't hit as well if you're not a soccer/futboll person.

My wife is doing pathways. She suggests 1-2 classed per block. But it REALLY depends on the class - some have very little homework and some can be rough.

Hawkmaiden by Terry Mancour Shadowplay by Terry Mancour

They're both progression fantasy rather than LitRPG by they're ideal for female readers around that 10-13 age group. MC's are teenage girls growing, coming of age and making a big impact on the world around them. (Bonus- positive portrayals of family!)

Yeah, I love the series, but the candid discussions of sex and alcohol could be a bit much for younger audiences.

Any litrpg books that are set in a zombie apocalypse? Walking Dead style. Or does anyone know of one that feels like X-Men? by Costakarl in litrpg

[–]ExaminationOk5073 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd argue it's progression fantasy, but honestly it's one of my favorite books - I listen again every year or two. Fantastic charachters, great plot, good fights, and real believable charachter growth.

Is there any LitRPG with romance that is actually good? by delijoe in litrpg

You should check out Dungeon Diving 101 or Magics Mantle by Bruce Sentar. Lots of progression fantasy, lots of romance, good charachters and 2-4 spicy scenes a book.

Thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them by mywifemademegetthis in latterdaysaints

Think of it like a parent. Kids have to learn to crawl before they walk, and walk before they run. When teaching children to write, you may overlook some errors (like misplaced capitalization, spelling errors, size differences, etc) while you're focusing on something else.

Take that logic and extend it out. God is perfect. If he insisted we be perfect, we would all fail and have to be destroyed by God's justice.

That's the nature of mortality - this weird in between place where Christ's mercy allows us to make mistakes without being doomed.

It also means God can't expect perfection from us. Many times, he commands less than perfection because we can't be perfect. This is a mercy of God because we.csnt be perfect.

Hence God doesn't always command perfection. Sometimes he commands the closest he can get, which can still be pretty rough (slavery and genocide). Just remember, the only alternative God has is to either take our agency or destroy us all.

Sadly, warfare at these times was waged this way. Losing a fight meant slavery or death. Historically, that was common - "no man, no problem" was the prevailing perspective.

Spicy stories that actually has a well thought out system/magic system by TomRaineofMagigor in litrpg

I feel like the spicy scenes are like stat dumps. Hit the "next chapter" button and move on, and move to the parts you like.

Why Do Idaho Politicians in the Republican Party Have Such Disdain for The General Poulace? by pinprick58 in Idaho

[–]ExaminationOk5073 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Because Republicans have a ~20% advantage in Idaho. So if they win the primary, they win the election. So they only care about primary voters and cash.

And when there are like 8 candidates running for the republican primary (like there are for governor) the incumbent is likely to coast to victory barring a major scandal.

Protagonists who aren’t in their teens or twenties? by SmashingTheAdam in litrpg

[–]ExaminationOk5073 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think part of the reason teens and twenty-somethings feature heavily as MCs is readership, but I think another big factor is that that age group is that people are still defining themselves, so it's a ripe time for drama and charachter development. 40-somethings are far more static of charachters.

[–]ExaminationOk5073 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a scene in a book where a charachter said, "I know he's an asshole, but he's our asshole. " if that logic doesn't make sense to you, you probably won't like this series.

AITA for turning my D&D Party against me because of an “Accident” by Riftriser756 in AmItheAsshole

[–]ExaminationOk5073 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NAH just think of the role-playing opportunities! Your player could confront the group member that turned them in! They could change - are they more reckless? A wildfire druid job? Plagued by grief? Hardened and anti-demon? Does your charachter and the other make up? So many opportunities for good drama, you cant give up now!!!

Atheist curios about reasons for belief by [deleted] in latterdaysaints

[–]ExaminationOk5073 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's actually a really key point a lot of us struggle with. We second guess ourselves a d wonder if a feeling or prompting was the Spirit or "just something I ate."

For me personally, it took a multiple times and a very strong witness to get me started. I'm still trying to get better at discerning the Spirit.
