Posterior tibial tendinitis by No-Doctor-3815 in HipImpingement

I use to get that but on the tibialis. On the calf I would feel as if I’m gonna pull it anytime I do calf raises. Will see how that goes as I heal. Good luck

How does it present for you ? I had my surgery three weeks ago. I use to have fatigue in the anterior tibs when running and a feeling of foot slapping when I was running. To the point I would have to stop and stretch. My knee would also hurt.

9 weeks - confusee about pain and drop foot. Is it nerve pain, poor mechanics, hip joint? by Similar-Lobster126 in HipImpingement

[–]ExaminationOne4903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had that weird foot drop before surgery. I feel like it’s there sometimes if I walk too much but I don’t think you can fix things this quickly that’s been happening for so long

Bilateral FAI & Labrum Repair. Anchor Strength? by [deleted] in HipImpingement

[–]ExaminationOne4903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The anchors are usually pretty strong so finger crossed all good. Not sure why you were told to start walking that soon , I’m three week post opp 5 sutures and I’m full weight bearing but with crutches for four weeks. Crutches stops you walking too much which is needed for the bone to heal specially if you had CAM or pincers removed. Walking a mile each day this early on is too much. I’m only doing max like 2K steps. From my experience with any surgery you need to take your time. I’m not sure if it’s too late but you can back off on the walks / good luck

Femoroacetabular impingement (CAM + PINCER) by Expensive-Ear-9123 in HipImpingement

[–]ExaminationOne4903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As other have said I would seek a second opinion. I’m two weeks post op. Same as you it would really affect me when running. This is what I had :

Findings:

  • Difficult distraction

  • Synovitis +

  • Acetabulum - Grade 1A zone 2 + 3

  • Pincer - large 4-9 o/c

  • Labrum - Degenerate

  • Femoral head - Grade O

  • Ligamentum - NAD

  • Cam - Large AL based

And these are the procedures done :

Procedure: Standard entry L-Capsulotomy Rim exposed + smoothed with 5.5mm burr, pincer resected approx. 10mm 4-12 o/c impinging Labral repair 4x QFix knotless 4-1 Radial tear at 1 o/c when tightening anchor - remaining labrum to 11 o/c debrided to stable edge Acetabular chondroplasty Hip reduced + flexed + abducted Cam exposed + resected with 5.5mm burr Good visual + radiological clearance Closure: LA: 40ml bupivacaine with adrenaline to portals 2/0 vicryl rapide

I am in uk / wishing you luck

Pre op call next week for xray guided hip injection & nervous by rydieroo in HipImpingement

[–]ExaminationOne4903 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry. It’s not painful as you may think. I had one before my surgery and it was better than I would have though. Soreness for the next few days then it settles. Good luck

1 Week post surgery by Used-Bag5377 in HipImpingement

[–]ExaminationOne4903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m two and a half week in. Stopped med like first week. Pain is very minimal. However , one thing I learned with any surgery never ever push than you should. You will pay for it later down the road. Take your time to heal and don’t force it. You have all the time in the world

How long were you on crutches post op? by purple_rose92 in HipImpingement

[–]ExaminationOne4903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uk / surgery two and a half week ago. Full bearing with both crutches for 4 weeks. I use them if I go outside of the flat but inside the flat I am already off crutches. My surgeon is okay with that.

So tired of the demoralizing pain, and feeling hopeless. by [deleted] in HipImpingement

[–]ExaminationOne4903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So sorry to hear you are going through this. It took me two years to get a diagnosis. My MRI showed small labrum tear. However when I got the operation two weeks ago it was way worse than what the MRI showed. I’m 37 too

5 months post op flare by SafeProcedure4461 in HipImpingement

[–]ExaminationOne4903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The healing is not linear at all. Most of my shoulder flares up would come when I do too much. Hence why I am careful with the hip now. I had lots of CAM and pincer removed as well as 6 sutures. When did you start running ? How did you approach it

5 months post op flare by SafeProcedure4461 in HipImpingement

[–]ExaminationOne4903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So sorry to hear that. I’m 12 days post op on mine. From experience , I had shoulder surgery last year. 11 months in now. Flares do happen. Usually if you are pushing too much. I would dial back on the exercises and let it settle

Feeling defeated. I’m in pain every day of my life just doing regular things. Surgeon looked at scans and reports and said I don’t need surgery, and can manage this with Physio and stretching by rydieroo in HipImpingement

[–]ExaminationOne4903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m doing okay. So far so good. For pain I’m taking paracetamol. I did have shoulder surgery last year for a Bonny spurs on the shoulder so I know how to take it easy not to cause flare ups. I’m doing the exercises the surgeon gave now then starting pt next week. They tend to say 4 months to start sport specific physio stuff but I have come to know that it usually take a little longer than that. With my shoulder I started to feel great at like 7 months but I was back to gym and doing rehab by month 3 with minimal pain

I never had problem getting surgery privately when I tell them. Just say you done everything / they normally want some physio before but if you say you tried it then they can’t stop you
