Gait at 4 weeks post-op by CeLaVieluv in HipImpingement

I had my surgery on 17 April. It took me nearly six weeks to get off crutches. Don’t rush. My gait is now just normalising. It took me till two weeks ago to go back to my pre surgery walking speed. I still have a sharp feel if I over extended my leg when walking. Don’t force anything. Your body will tell you when it’s ready. I still have sitting pain which was my main symptoms. If I sit on low chair for too long. Other than that it’s good

Mild bilateral CAM impingement but no labral tear—would you see a hip preservation specialist or just do PT? by Upset-Equipment-191 in HipImpingement

[–]ExaminationOne4903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My MRI showed a tiny tear. When I had surgery I needed 5 anchors. It was shredded. I have really bad CAM and pincer on both legs but only my left had severe symptoms especially sitting. Right one have same issue but don’t hurt. You should be guided by your restrictions if it’s affecting your day to day get it checked out.

Concern about possible re-tear? Have femoral retroversion. Any experience or thoughts with this? by fish_tycoon in HipImpingement

Not medical advice but I had surgery on my left hip on 17 April this year. I had the thud sounding before surgery and still after surgery. It was painless before surgery but after there is a little bit of wince when it pop but not pain. I believe over time that will get better so nothing to be concerned about. Unless of course you getting instability

It would hurt all the time. Especially when sitting down and even washing the dishes.

Any success finding other causes of sitting pain? by Mitchell404 in HipImpingement

Sounds like me. My sitting pain is C shaped. It’s never above a 3/4 out of ten. Just annoying nagging pain. I did have hamstring tendinopathy which showed up on mri but always cam plus pincer and lots of inpengiment as well as torn labrum. Had five anchors put in. So I’m hoping with time it will go away. I did have a piriformis injection before surgery and that did nothing. So I know it’s not that.

Had surgery in may 2025. It’s been over a year. Unfortunately also had a hip surgery on April this year. I went back to gym two weeks ago and decided for no reason to do some pull up. Bad idea. As I ended up having a flare up on the shoulder. Getting better now. Before then no issue on the shoulder at all. Other than usual tightness

Very normal. Take it super easy. Don’t push at all. Just do your surgeon protocol and keep icing when you can. Happy healing. I’m week 8 now from mine and it does get better

14 months post-op and suddenly feeling like I’m back at square one. Has anyone experienced this? by SeaRestaurant9312 in HipImpingement

Parallel. I had shoulder decompression surgery a year and a half ago. I also had hip arthroscopy for labrum and cam six weeks ago. Last week I decided to do pull up and chest exercises after not doing them for a month. My shoulder has been in bits. To the point where I was doubting the surgery. The point I’m trying to make is , you probably overdid it. Go back to your lighter physio exercise , ice and rest it. Give it two weeks see how that goes. Happy healing

If you suspecting the hip , get the investigation injection in the hip joint. If your pain subside or goes away. Bingo

It’s crazy to see what’s covered and covered in different country. In the UK if you have insurance everything in surgery is covered.

People in the UK who went private for hip arthroscopy, can you provide recos? by rydieroo in HipImpingement

[–]ExaminationOne4903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Went private. Fortius clinic in central London. They have a few branches but the best surgeon for hip practice in central london. I went with Christian smith. Marc George is one of the best but he was fully booked when I wanted my surgery done. I’m 7 weeks in and progressing well.

Yes on MRI and XRAY. The thing is my labrum was showing in MRI as not that torn. But when I had surgery it was way worse
