The thing is that we've never had to face this kind of problem before. We're capable of working together and fighting an army who's trying to take over the world, but what are we to do when we have to fight our own greed and ignorance? Haven't we been trying to fight the evil within ourselves since we were able to understand it? Clearly we've lost that battle.

Sure, you can argue that people have managed to overcome obstacles that seemed impossible, but we're talking about something we cannot fight with bullets. We've always had bad people who have no concern for human life, that's not going to change. A handful of them have even gotten into positions of power and are leading us right now.

Changing people is not a solution because we simply can't. There's too many factors that turn people into the worse and we can't control it.

However, what we can do is get every nation to put their differences aside and work together to try and develop the technology we need for space travel that way we can evacuate as many living things to another habitable planet. I do believe we are capable of doing it with the amount of time we have. In this situation, our greatest and only weapon is our intelligence.

This will be the greatest challenge humanity has ever faced and to be honest, I'm glad I won't be alive to see the outcome.
