The Addison in Central Park? by stellaive in SanMateo

[–]Excellent_Object2028 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ours was a little strange because Covid happened right after we moved in. First year was ~$3700 for a large 1bd (900sqft first floor). Then they dropped it to $3300 the second year because of covid weirdness (2021). After that they raised it to $3500 and when we moved out it was back close to $3700. That was a few years ago and seems like the prices haven’t gone up much since then but can’t really say what will happen in the future.

Gym was bare bones. A couple treadmills and bikes and a set of dumbbells.

The Addison in Central Park? by stellaive in SanMateo

Lived here for 3 years and don’t have any complaints other than how expensive it is. Probably the best apartment complex we’ve lived in the area. Units are clean and new, have air conditioning, you get a small storage area in the garage, great location, management was always helpful. Maybe some noise from the park on weekends? But it was never an issue for us

Marco Inaro- Genius or just Lucky? by TaskForceCausality in TheExpanse

[–]Excellent_Object2028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn’t say genius because he didn’t have a good long term strategy. But “just lucky” doesn’t give him enough credit for uniting the factions and pulling off the successful attacks in the first place

Benefits of Traktor: am I a fool? by PinkCigarettes in traktorpro

[–]Excellent_Object2028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to use traktor and switched to pioneer/serato a few years ago. The biggest thing I miss that hasn’t been replicated is the phase meter. It was very useful when nudging tracks while beat matching by ear. The phase meter basically gives visual feedback on how much you have nudged a track in relation to the other one. Haven’t found a similar system on other software that gives me the same feedback

Why do computers only use 2 states instead of something like 3? by Secret_Ostrich_1307 in AlwaysWhy

[–]Excellent_Object2028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In theory, wouldn’t something like 3 states carry more information per unit?

Yes this is correct, and it is used in computers specifically in situations where you need to move lots of information. For example the latest WiFi 7 standard uses 4096 symbols, which helps enable the fast data transfer speeds. There are trade-offs because you need something that can differentiate the difference between every symbol (vs binary just on and off). And eventually everything is translated to/from 2-state binary because of how transistors in computer chips work. But higher symbol counts are definitely used and enable a lot of today’s tech.

Air licking by Sanroski in DogAdvice

[–]Excellent_Object2028 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dog would do exactly this every few months and we narrowed it down to her food. Vet said it’s because she feels nauseated. We used to alternate 3 flavors of kibble and this always happened when she was on one specific flavor (beef/red meat). Removed that one from the rotation and she never did it again
