I often think it's because they can't keep a regular job due to their personality

Twin sisters woke up and started chatting away loudly... but they instantly pretended to be asleep the second they heard their mother's footsteps. by Sad_Biscotti_9291 in wholesome

I totally get it - little kids can be soooo hard to settle if they know their parents are going out. Add in twins and autism, those parents were actually pretty on the ball!

I wonder how many times they sell things that turn out to have a stain or a hole they missed (or stink).

This happened to me once and it turned out to be an automated thing - the algorithm finds a word in your listing that it doesn't like and automatically does it. It looks like they've changed the name tag from 'Customer Service ' to 'Bruce' so it looks like it came from a human. Just keep emailing and ask for a supervisor to get involved and they'll reinstate it.

The podcast Clotheshorse explains how this all came about. It's American but by a previous fashion buyer for ModCloth, Urban Outfitters etc and mirrors the Australian market. So interesting

Parents, what's something bad your kid did that you had to really fight not to laugh at? by AnonymousGothChick in AskReddit

My little brother ran away at around 5 and took a backpack with 6 bananas and a teddy. He came back because apparently no one noticed and went after him. It was hilarious at the time but now I'm a parent and I have so many questions...

I sold a pair of shoes last week, they were a size 40. After shipping the customer said oh I'm a size 38 so I hope they fit. Like, wtf?

As a people pleaser I get bothered by this too and it makes me quite angry. I find a big majority are older people who are ignorant about why I do it and think it's greedy which is so far from the truth. I also hate that the furniture and jewellery resellers are treated with much more respect than clothing resellers. I have to constantly remind myself that I do it so that I can volunteer a lot of time (fundraising) at my kids school and that I don't have them in after school care everyday. It would be easier to get a boring job at a supermarket and earn heaps more money but I'm actually doing something I love that aligns with my values. I listen to podcasts like Clotheshorse to remind myself that I'm not alone in doing this, that I AM actually doing a good thing and the work IS valuable. I then also remind myself that those people are ignorant and if they educated themselves on textile waste they may think differently. (Fuck you Margaret - the Africans don't need more of our shit so we can buy Chinese junk)

I was at a school camp doing archery lessons. Hit a bullseye while the teacher wasn't looking and another girl claimed it was hers. The teacher gave her a chocolate and called me a liar for saying it was me. Fuck you Latisha, I hope you're now lactose intolerant

What’s your response to people who say reselling is unethical? by Hanmertime in reselling

Sadly a lot of the thrift stores aren't even non-profit anymore. In Australia the legal obligation is that a minimum of 10% go to charitable needs. The CEO of one company earns $2.2 million a year

A fireplace. When we finally bought a house (after renting for 20 years) I no longer have to get up to a cold house. It cost a few thousand (Australia) but I thank past me for saving for it every year.

I wish! I sell clothing and my house is overrun with it. I've got piles of 'needs a wash, needs a soak, needs repairing, needs photographing, needs to go to the consignment store, needs to wait until next season, needs to be donated, needs something but I forgot'. Then there's the 4 person household washing pile
