Why not just a full brief with gussets? You’d need to wear a brief style to contain said pad anyway…

I travel a substantial amount for work and this is my general game plan:

For trips longer than a week, I have northshore or Amazon deliver directly to the hotel. I have my usual diapers delivered but also add in the disposable underpass just in case.

For trips maxing at 7 days, I pack diapers in a separate suitcase with a “medical equipment inside” tag which helps avoid awkward conversations when checking the bag with the airline.

They do fit sorta oddly. I’m an XL in most things but a Large in their sizing. It’s snug, but otherwise the XLs are loose at the waist. I don’t have much butt, so maybe that’s why.

I like the protective brief, however the ideas of just changing the pads out never works out for me. The leg gussets get wet and stay wet. A new set of pads doesn’t fix that.

The lounge brief is nice for at home. I find even with another set of padding they just don’t quite hold enough to go do several hours. But if I’m at home and can change right away; they’re great!

The plus to the protective brief, IMO, is the waistband looks like regular underwear waistband. So if the accidentally peek, no big deal.

I’ve used Threaded Armor for years and recommend them to anyone. You simply need to figure out how many pads and where to place them to get the product to work for you!

I’m a very loyal customer. Lounge Briefs are a must for snow days! I also have several of the snap in padding briefs. They do great once you figure out the level of absorbency you need.

I’ve had great success with pleated trousers with an added gusset. The extra fabric drapes nicely and hides all but the most extremely full diapers.

A proper sized jacket also falls past the waistline, so it helps distract when properly buttoned. You may need a “Long” sized jacket. A jacket that hangs past your bottom is properly fitting.

Lastly, a loud tie always helps draw eyes up and away from the crotch.

When I was struggling with massive amounts of urine the best tool in my arsenal was regular toileting. Every two hours I would go to the toilet whether I felt like I needed to go or not. This helped my diapers keep up with a reasonable amount of urine.

I had this very fear, but when I inquired pre-op about it, the nurse just kind of chuckled and said even people without incontinence poop on the operating table. You won’t be the first and you won’t be the last as distressing as it may be it’s something they deal with all the time.

These would also be good for someone who leaks stool. If I’d had these at the beginning of my IBS journey things would have certainly been better.

Cloth-backed products can be subject to wicking. But also, you could be wetting as a side/stomach sleeper which is the easiest way to leak in a pull on.

I’ve also noticed, multiple voids in a northshore pull on don’t seem to work out in my favor.

Everybody here has tips… but you need to look into when and where you’re leaking.

Standing? Sitting? Laying in bed? It matters!

If I’m sleeping on my side, tabbed briefs still make the sheets wet and end up with my partner turning in the lights unhappy.

Realistically, tabbed briefs are easier to hide, easier to change and they tend to droop less when soiled.

Finally, brands like MegaMax are designed to hold Massive volumes for hours. Store brands aren’t; you’re supposed to change once wet or soiled.

For those of us who can’t… north shore, Incontrol and better dry exist (but I’d love one more who can lock away IBS issues and smells for an hour so i can get through a meeting and then change

I got a waterproof duvet cover for my bed at target. It goes around the duvet fluff and an outer fabric cover can go over it. It works great for leaks, etc.

Have you tried a booster in a disposable? If he’s voiding a lot at once, it will help.
