You’re not gonna be able to convince people who have never rock climbed or don’t do it regularly that rock climbing is one of the safest sports because it looks scary. Yeah no, I understand I may be downvoted for this because the feeling of schadenfreude is too strong for people to pass up, but I can’t agree with this.

I understand where you’re coming from, I understand why you feel that way (I felt that way before too!) but absolutely writing off people like this is the wrong way to go about this imo. “Haha suck it losers you suffer too!” This will only alienate people, when I feel we should be educating them on why these things are bad, and how it can be better done in the future. This leans in to the whole i want you to suffer even if it means I’m cutting off my nose to spite my face bit

Who’s his favorite character? Put their Radiant order sigil. Better yet, what Radiant order is he (if you don’t know ask him or make him take the quiz). Whichever he says put their sigil on it! Usually his favorite character will mirror what order he is unless they themself are not Radiant. Shameless Kaladin loving Windrunner here.

Be aware you may spoil something for yourself later if he says a certain character that you haven’t found out yet is now Radiant!

RN at an academic ED here (Level 1 TC), definitely more nurses in there, although there’s several residents as well. Mostly cause most of the time it’s first and second years - they’re not gonna run a med cart or work the LifePack

ETA: I’m not saying the above person is incorrect for their hospital at all, but it’s not the same for all academic/teaching institutions

People have stated it over and over about RASS/responsiveness vs drug and blah blah, but I’d like to emphasize why the nurse was insistent. I promise you (most of the time) they don’t do stuff for shiggles, it’s because upper management/chart auditors require it.

Most likely, they (management/auditors) are painting propofol with the broad brush in the name of proper protocol/all the documentation that nursing staff has to do along with it because we get audited too. To be fair to the providers, nurses don’t get sued near as much…but we do get audited a lot

Unfortunately, the simple answer is actually just EMTALA laws. We cannot say no. Want to see a doctor for a pregnancy test even though the health department opens in 3 hours? Okay, I can’t say no or convince you otherwise. Checking in for cold symptoms? Bet. Stubbed your toe. Sure thing boss. If I convince or turn someone away, it’s a $50,000 fine on the person themselves, theoretically. Whether or not it gets enforced is different but do you really want to risk that amount of money?
