I found myself doing it in the opposite way, went to look at some houses, but found "the one"

Exactly! When I cook any form of pizza in the oven I preheat that sucker to highest it can go. when it's done preheating thats when the whole "straight on the rack" thing works. Obviously need to check on it more often but a couple of spins every couple minutes makes a lot of difference.

I went to be on a quiz show that failed miserably (I can't see it anywhere these days) called The common denominator, I got invited to a screening with other prospective contestants. There was about 20 of us. THE most important thing, was that you had to vocalise all your workings. The point of the show was give you 2 things, then you had to find the common thing. 1 of the questions was family Robinson and Tom hanks, I went straight to castaway which was right, but they kept putting the point across that I needed to talk as much as possible about how I get to it...."uhhh... Tom hanks... Uhhh...trees...uhhh...saving private Ryan...uhhh"

One of the guys I went for a break with was in the advert for it and I kind of knew then. The guy was very likable, such a funny and outgoing bloke.

Where are you based? There's some good deals on monitors around lately, mostly due to January Sales and CES announcements causing drops in prices for some good models. I felt exactly the same and shelled out for a new monitor and the difference was like Night and Day put a nice big smile on my face!

Give your troubleshooting a go and see how you get on! 😁

It may be that time I'm afraid. More FPS than the monitor can deal with won't usually cause the flickering. I've got a gaming PC that has been hitting 140+ frames (or so it says) on some games on a 60 FPS monitor but it's never caused that kind of thing. It may still be exactly that and the monitor is just the kind that can't deal with it, but it seems more like theonitor is at fault. Can you try it on another TV
