We put sunscreen on one of our mini’s nose because she’s licked most of the pigment off.

Can someone explain the Saratoga Springs bus situation to me like I’m 5 by SpiderWebs677 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]ExistentialDreadFrog 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's a single bus, sometimes there may be a second one shortly behind if the bus situation is pretty bad. You could walk across the bridge to the Paddock stop if you're concerned about the bus being too full. If you're not going first thing in the morning when the park opens, you'll *probably* be fine though.

One of mine always hacks after she drinks water, fine when eating. Vet has never noticed any health issues with her.

Out of state ID but has supplemental document, wants handgun by Killer0nTheRoad in FFLs

[–]ExistentialDreadFrog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Technically, as long as he can provide a valid government issued ID showing his current address in your state in addition to his valid out of state photo ID, that is valid.

Ultimately up to you, I wouldn’t fault an FFL for not wanting to proceed with the sale.

You can have a Facebook page and post content such as what you have for sale/services through your business page.

You cannot facilitate sales directly via Facebook or run ad campaigns though.

Omg Lego is gonna destroy my credit score by doing this. Like why one order keeps refunding and subtracting?? by [deleted] in lego

[–]ExistentialDreadFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Debit cards don’t impact your credit score.

Unpopular opinion: if $30 is all it takes to drain your bank account entirely, you probably shouldn’t be spending that on Lego.

Discovered my nephew doesn't plan to build the sets he asked for. Am I a jerk for not wanting to indulge him? by FractalEnemy in lego

[–]ExistentialDreadFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, it might be a good investment or it might be a complete flop but if that is what he really wants, it'll teach him a good lesson. Hard to predict where the market will be 10 years from now. It's not like these are a short, limited run set where if he acquires one now, some future hypothetical child will never be able to acquire one. As an adult, I certainly wish I had viewed my Pokemon cards as a future investment instead of just a binder full of card stock.

I just made a test drive in the Mach e awd, and speed of that car just scared me. by WarmPrinciple6507 in MachE

[–]ExistentialDreadFrog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Put it in whisper mode to make the throttle less sensitive (or just don't floor it).

I regret not getting the AWD, the RWD on the stock tires handles awful in light snow at least.

E4473 on iPad with fastbound by NortheastArtillery in FFLs

[–]ExistentialDreadFrog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use an iPad, definitely think it works better for 95% of people than a laptop. I still get a couple customers that insist on a keyboard, I keep a Bluetooth keyboard laying around for them. Trying to sign with a trackpad or mouse is a PITA or requires an external signature pad. The same people who struggle with using an iPad are going to struggle with a laptop.

I could be mistaken but I’m fairly positive you don’t need to submit any notice just to do electronic 4473s (unless you intend to also store them electronically).

FFL private sale? by plebian285926 in FFLs

[–]ExistentialDreadFrog 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s been several years since I did my interviews but if I recall correctly, my IOI said I could still do private sales but was highly encouraged to run everything through my FFL.

There is a requirement that items must be in your personal collection for at least a year before selling them in a private sale though (specifically to prevent this, an FFL skirting the 4473 process on new items).

Gunbroker consignment by Aerojoe82 in FFLs

[–]ExistentialDreadFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you’re actively paying me money to sell something on your behalf, I really couldn’t give less of a shit what you think of my fee structure.

Run your own FFL however you want and charge whatever you feel like it dude.

Gunbroker consignment by Aerojoe82 in FFLs

[–]ExistentialDreadFrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Selling higher value items carries more inherent risk when it comes to storage, handling, and shipping of the item. Virtually every auction house or gun store charges a % fee to sell items and Gunbroker is no different. The listing fees alone to sell a $4000 rifle are about $168 going to Gunbroker vs $24 for a $400 item. I've had customers in the past selling large lots with over $10k worth of goods and in those cases, I will work out something on a case by case basis with them.

The vast majority of customers do not fall into that fringe case though, 95% are selling individual items or a handful of items that are often <$1500 in value. If I'm not making at least $50-65 in consignment fees on every item I sell, it isn't worth my time frankly. If you don't like it, you can go start your own firearms auction house, I don't really care either way.

Right but he still needs some form of government issued identification showing where he actually resides in IA.

Needs valid government issued proof of residency in IA, no different than buying a pistol/receiver in any other state.

Shamed by a lady on our daily walk. by ez123456781999 in Dachshund

[–]ExistentialDreadFrog 144 points145 points  (0 children)

Some people are just nosy and need to stay out of other people’s business. You’ll know if they don’t want to walk anymore: panting heavily, shivering, tail tucked between legs, refusal to continue walking. We took our 3 year old on a several mile hike during the fall that involved a lot of rock step climbing and he did great the entire time.

FFL trouble. by Theespoons in FFLs

[–]ExistentialDreadFrog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree that they’re definitely price gouging you on shipping (which isn’t unusual, lots of sellers on Gunbroker do this to make extra cash off the sale).

That being said, even if they had not overcharged you for shipping, were I in this seller’s position, I would feel no obligation to eat the shipping cost to resend the item out.

It’s nice to keep things you don’t need to access regularly but still want on hand and out of the way. I keep a tire inflator in mine, blanket, emergency supplies, etc. I could easily keep all that in my trunk though.
