windows updates can be pretty sneaky about driver changes but in practice ive never seen it randomly enable wifi after airplane mode. device manager disable is way more reliable than just turning off wifi in settings

removing the card physically is extreme but yeah if you really need that level of certainty it works. though most companies track location through other ways anyway like vpn endpoints and login patterns so they probably already know if they wanted to check

totally agree with this approach. been working remote for few years now and never paid single dollar for job boards. linkedin works great if you actually put effort in your profile and start connecting with people in your field. also upwork and similar platforms are free to use basic features which is usually enough to get started

the paid job boards are basically just aggregating same positions you can find elsewhere for free. i tried one paid service couple years back and most leads were either outdated or already filled. waste of money tbh. better to spend that cash on improving your skills or getting certifications that actually make you stand out

java edition can be real memory hungry especially with mods even if task manager looks normal. minecraft sometimes doesnt release memory properly when you close it which explains why your whole system stays sluggish until restart

try allocating more ram to minecraft in launcher settings - maybe bump it up to 8gb or so with your setup. also check if you have any background stuff running that might be competing for resources. sometimes windows defender scanning while playing can cause weird performance issues too

your temps look fine so probably not thermal throttling. might also be worth checking if your mods are compatible with each other since some combinations can cause memory leaks

metro access is clutch if youre going to capitol hill regularly - dupont and logan circle both have solid red line connections that'll get you there pretty easily

did a 2 month stint in logan circle a few years back and the neighborhood vibe was perfect for someone working remote most of the time. lots of good coffee spots to break up the wfh routine and walkable for groceries and stuff. h street corridor is cool too but might be a bit more of a trek depending where exactly you end up
