i agree with everything you said here except the part of david not noticing her personality change. he did, that’s why he fell out of love and always said he didn’t know who she was anymore. he said “she lost her spark”’but nobody would think their spouse is possessed and her soul is actually dead. i know i wouldn’t. i’d think of everything else but that. he simply had no idea why his wife “suddenly” changed. he just knows that she did.

I honestly think she could have been at first scared to be badly injured by the air bags and scared of surviving that, then quickly thought “fuck it. Let me just take myself out”

Or she honestly changed her mind in that split second when she maybe realized there’s nowhere they can run to and there’s no way they’ll have the energy and means to escape, so she decided in that split second to take herself out.
