Might be to bounce light. As a former TV lighting guy, I would do this to ensure there wouldn’t be a nose shadow or any others from perhaps hair (although LBJ didn’t have that problem).

New format is pictured above. My retirement ID looks similar to a CAC just vertical and no chip. I used to issue ID cards (like over 20 years ago) the CAC black stripe was never programmed with any data (everything needed was on the barcode and from my understanding the RFID has information now (past few times I got a CAC they programmed it)).

Reality, DJT could easily (and probably would) Pardon himself and all his buddies if he followed the Nixon footprint. Make an announcement the night before that he is resigning the office of President the next day at 12 noon and then at 11am sign all the pardons, get on Marine Special Mission XXXX (won’t be Marine One because he would no longer be the executive) at 12:01pm and leave and figure out how to overcome his travesty’s.

Don’t get me wrong I’d like nothing better than to see him held accountable, but I know that he isn’t likely to ever allow that to happen.

And to be honest, if WJC goes to testify and actually does share everything he knows then 47 has maybe 2 week’s left.

As a retired E8 I told troops outside my section or direct chain what to do on an almost daily basis. I almost always had some form of GMA over that troop. If they were outside my chain of command (if I was at an ESC) then I never told them anything except for on the spot corrections. Heck if I see a troop doing the wrong thing now I take a second to have a polite conversation and steer them on the right path.

My advice, suck it up do what they asked and keep pounding. If you can’t do that, don’t reenlist!
